Diaphanous is a gene that I want to like but can't seem to like it. The part at the bottom of the wing is perfect to me, but the elbow wing is odd (I can deal with this one though). The part behind the ear.... nuh-uh. As much as I really want to like it, I really dislike the way the ear wing looks.

I never paid much attention to the placements of diaphanous, but I really like some of the color gradients with it. This guy for example

The way the color fades from dark blue to light blue completely overshadows the wing locations to me for some reason
And I love Vhen's diaphanous for the fiery contrast

This is a slightly odd request in this thread, but would you mind adding me to your adopt shop pinglists?? I saw that it's been around a month since it was last posted in and I didn't want to revive it if you weren't ready for that. I'd love to be on any pinglist you have (slots, updates, new adopts etc etc)
Also, your viel are beautiful! So far you and the person before have made me realize that the head wing with Diaphanous isn't as bad when it's on the male art since they have their head thrown back more

I'm a fan of Diaphanous, particularly when its colors match closely to the primary/secondary! It isn't really one of those genes that looks best in high contrast.

Diaphanous is so gorgeous but ancients aren't really a priority of mine so I only have one. I love her though! Finding fitting a skin that didn't clip with her tert was harder than I thought it would be :P
