Listen, I have 64 perma dragons already, I even went to a scrying thread to avoid getting rid of the only two I could think of, I have a breeding project, and I just Don't Have Space to keep more and once I keep them that's it!!! I'll feel like I'm betraying them if I get rid of them once I've had them for long enough!! And at least I'll probably be able to get another pistachio XX out of that pair again but....th-that nocturne. Can I really just...let her be exalted? By myself or another?
And my breeding project threw a perfect christmas dragon and a lovely sunset.

I tell'd myself ugly eyes and exalt (Although that first hatchling is really cute). Personally, I breed fodder pair with a small range, so I can tell myself I can always breed a dragon that looks the same so I can exalt this particular fodder

You could always give them away. I mean, someone might exalt them eventually, but that way they're not in your lair anymore and they have a better chance at a loving home than they do on the AH.
I know the pain, though--I purposely made all my fodder breeders pretty uninteresting and they still hatch neat stuff now and then that I just can't get rid of.

I used to breed fodder, and I just exalted everything unless it was something amazing.
My logic is that,
1. there are many pretty dragons out there, but I can't keep all of them.
2. I'll see a lot of pretty dragons, but I'll only be sentimentally attached to a small portion of them.
With that in mind, I yeet them all.

I keep breeding ones I think with give weird and interesting babies and sometimes I get wonderful hot messes but sometimes it BACKFIRES. *sigh* I should probably do like you guys and designate fodder breeders and keep them either boring looking or narrow range. It's the lure of the unexpected that keeps me going random. ;_; I also have some basics in my lair...I suppose I could breed those and then I'm almost guaranteed boring kids.
