How to Swap
- Pick a dragon you're going to send off to see the world.
- In the dragon's description, put the following:
Code:
[i]Uh-oh, looks like this (dragon descriptor, ie colourful noodle) wandered a little too far from his/her home lair (lair number, username), and now s/he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, s/he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him/her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, [url=http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drt/1101610]here.[/url] This is not necessary, but s/he would be very grateful![/i]
[b]Owners I've Had:[/b]
[i](put your lair/username here)[/i]
- You can add extra stuff to the description if you want to - a personality profile, a history/reason why they got lost, places they'd love to go to, items that you want passed on with them, whatever. You can also use fancy coded bios, just so long as they contain the all-important blurb above.
- Once you're done with the description, post the dragon, ping whoever's above you with @(and then their name), and then give it to whoever you just pinged! To give someone a dragon, go to the Crossroads, and click on 'One Way Delivery'.
- The next person to post will give you a dragon. Be sure to add your own username and lair number to its description! You can also jazz up its bio, give it stuff to take on its travels, re-gene it, level it; whatever you like.
- You can even... use this super-cool button that @CelesticLeo made! Just copy and paste this anywhere you want in the bio:
Code:
[url=http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drt/1101610/1][img]http://i.imgur.com/7wv9OeJ.png[/img][/url]
Aaaaand it'll come out looking like this!
What if I...? (FAQ)
- Sometimes people send pairs through this thread! This is fine. However, if you don't want a pair, please state this in your posts.
- If a dragon's home lair is dead - as in completely unfed dragons, a leaving-this-account-giveaway, no recent activity, locked account, obvious signs like that - you can send the travelling dragon to me (Spooner) or @GrinningWolf24. Either of us will take it in and change its home lair to ours, so the dragon can continue on its adventure.
- If you want to back out of the thread, you can (a) send the dragon to its home lair without using this thread, (b) take the dragon to our hub, or (c) exalt the dragon. It would be preferred that the dragon isn't exalted, and there are alternatives to exalting - but 'no exalting' is not a requirement of the thread.
- As per Flight Rising's exalting policy, no-one who gets a travelling dragon is being forced to refrain from exalting it, selling it, wiping its bio, or doing anything else to it. It is theirs, to do with whatever they want. Of course, it would be nice if they didn't - but by sending a dragon out, you are accepting that if it gets exalted/sold/ect, you do not have any right to harass the user about it.
- However, please note that taking dragons from this thread with the express intent to exalt those dragons (not later down the line, just exalting them right away) is also considered an abuse of the policy! If you see someone doing this repeatedly in the thread, please contact an admin.
- Please don't ask to be skipped. This is a swapping thread. Take it to the hub or to the home listed in its bio instead.
- Again, if the home lair is dead, you can take it to me (Spooner) or @GrinningWolf24.
- If there's a disagreement/you're uncertain about something/you got skipped/ect, please PM or ping me about it!
- Please don't make any threads identical to this one. Seriously. Not going to try and shut down any that exist already, of course. Buuuuuut, because people have come to me asking to do it, I figured I should say this publicly. Please, let's just keep it to one; it'll get confusing otherwise.
"I Got This Dragon From Somewhere That Wasn't This Thread!"
- You can sell it, exalt it, or anything else you like. Same if you got it from within this thread. Returning or passing the dragon on is appreciated, but wholly unnecessary.
