This system is based on Dragons of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, where children were sent to live in different holds and craft halls to ensure the isolated holds did not become inbred, and to encourage the fosterlings to learn new crafts. After growing up, the children could choose to remain in their adoptive home or return to their birth home and bring their new skills with them. [b]How to participate:[/b] There's no need to be a member to participate! Just post any hatchlings you would like to give away or trade on the thread and ping the appropriate pinglist. If you would like to become a member, please decide whether you would like to be a "trader" – you will trade a hatchling for another hatchling – or a "receiver" meaning you can take a hatchling without trading. Ping me with your preference and I will put you on the list. You can say both! The idea is to let people decide if they have enough lair space that they can just take on a fosterling, or if they would have to trade for one. Or both, if you're willing to trade (one hatchie for another) and receive fosterlings.

[*]That being said, please keep any dragons you get from this thread for a few weeks at least, and contact the original owner to see if they want the fosterling back before you exalt. If someone is quickly exalting fosterlings, or if I receive multiple complaints about them, they will be removed from any pinglists. This is to ensure that the hatchlings get a chance to become fully developed in their personalities and lore, which is a major goal for this thread.[/list]
