The lamp flickered dimly in the winter night, small snowflakes drifting around its faint light. The town guard was nodding off, arms crossed over his chest. His cheeks were a rosy red as he slept, and his breath puffed out steadily in front of him. Had he been awake, he would have seen the shadowy figure darting by him.

The figure made their way through the village, through the rows of houses, their mind set on their target. The night was their perfect cover, their cloak hiding their identity. The figure crept into a window, moving slowly through the hut. Their victim rested softly in their bed. The deed was done quickly, a knife plunging into the throat of the sleeping person.

A strangled gurgle escaped the throat of the victim, as they shot up suddenly, grasping at the air for help. A wet cough sprayed blood over the bed in front of them, but the assailant was gone. They had slipped into the night, as silently as they came.

The fresh snow hid any traces of wrongdoing as the village woke up. The usual greetings were said, and the work was started. The town guard swapped out, from one sleepy man to the next, and none suspected the bloodshed that had happened the night prior.

As the sun slowly rose, the villagers noticed one was not among their number. They called her name, searching the village for her. The village was shocked when they finally discovered her body, brutally murdered in the night. Suspicions were sparked instantly, with people accusing one another of wrongdoing.

A blade slipped, from palm to palm, as the discussion was ringing around the townspeople. Sinister, knowing glances were cast between a few people in the group. Things were going perfectly according to plan.

Day 1 start

1. Post in the main chat at least once per day phase. If you cannot post at some point for any reason, either PM me or post in the main chat ASAP informing me of this.
2. I will not be subscribed to the chat, so pinging or PMing me will be nearly the only way to get my attention, except in rare cases when I happen to see it scrolling through the chat
3. Roleclaim away! Lie about your role! This is a CLOSED SETUP game, so no one will be able to verify if the role you claim is even in the game ;)
4. This is a role-madness game! Everyone gets a role. Beware: There are hidden mechanics for more of the… tame… roles.
5. On that note, this is a b*st*rd game, so the mod (yours truly) can, and sometimes will lie. You will not, however, be lied to on your role card.
6. Days are 48 hours long, and nights are 24 hours. The last 30 minutes of a phase are rollover, where no posts may be made and no additional votes and actions can be cast. ((Leeway will be given, as sometimes you hit post right after I do.))
7. Votes will be cast via PM. You may claim to vote for someone and even be telling the truth, but the true votes will be hidden in my PMs.
8. I plan on hosting the mafia chat via Discord, but if this doesn’t work, I’ll set something else up (either another chat service, a google doc, etc.)
9. Insults and general hostility will not be tolerated. I get that this can get heated, but keep high energy from becoming mean.
10. The mod does have a role and can be voted out.
11. Do not delete or edit posts, save double posting and spelling or grammar mistakes
12. Your win condition is listed in your role card.
13. Roles are chosen via random.org
14. Do not communicate outside of this game, unless you are told otherwise that you can. (about the game. Strategizing, roleclaiming, etc.)
15. Ask me for the strangest thing you can think of when joining to prove you have read the rules.

This video explains it better than I can (but believe me, even without it I would say the same thing) and it is also interesting!

Edit: I know foosball isn't really... Something that is too covered by the video, but if Steve can just blast the ball repeatedly with his full strength, never giving the emperor a chance to react because the ball is moving so fast, there isn't much the Force can do. I mean, yeah, he'd know it's coming, but an electrical signal can only travel so fast in the brain. With the power to hold black holes in the palms of his hands, Steve would have no issues either a) hitting the ball faster than human thought, and therefore action, or b) just create a black hole, bend spacetime, and win by default.
