Finished! Feel free to PM with questions, or to request to be added to a pinglist for the next time I run a game of this type.
Monster Hunter Hunger Games
A Mirror glides ahead of you, cloak billowing in the mist. You shake your head in confusion. You were just heading into the Ghostlight Ruins to do some training; a couple of recruits were behind you when you started, but now they...aren't? "Hey, what's going on? Where are my recruits?"
The Mirror turns back to you. "Shhh!"
A small brown Fae appears. "It's all right, Xiuhpilli, I'm in the shadow of the trees now. Help me stay here and I'll be fine."
"Back up a little," the Mirror advises. She then turns back to you. "So, you're obviously a hunter of supernatural beings and monsters, if you're heading into the Ghostlight Ruins."
You nod, watching the Mirror's teeth gleam in the moonlight. "You're a vampire," you say, fingering your weapon.
"Yup. The same as you'd usually be hunting. And she's a Werelor."
"I prefer 'WereFae'," the Fae says, frills flat in annoyance.
"She turns into a mindless beast of a Gaoler in the light of the full moons," the Mirror shrugs. "The Fae version is usually fairly sapient."
"It's not the full moons until tomorrow night," you point out.
"Even one full is enough," she says. "Therefore I have to be careful for several days. Curse Sorneith's two moons." Her frills held are at an unusual, sharp, and, it must be admitted, highly unattractive angle.
"Hey, watch your language," the Mirror teases, attempting to pat the Fae on the back.
"Wait a second," you interrupt. "I know your kinds, and they never get along. Why are you two so close?"
"A common enemy unites us all, you included," the Fae points out. She gestures toward the ruins. "You know that there is an unusually high concentration of Shade-touched beasts in there. You fight them all the time--you fight us too."
"We also fight the Shade, for it threatens our survival as well. It is a fact of life." Xiuhpilli spreads her claws wide. "But recently...can you sense it?"
You look toward the ruins, and notice that the shadows are far deeper than usual. An aura of darkness, deeper than any Shadow magic, permeates the ruins. You feel chills run up your spines as a faint hiss reaches your ears.
"It nears the time for Samhain, when all forces of darkness and evil are awakened. The Shade is growing, and it must be stopped."
"Forces of darkness and evil? That usually includes you..." you trail off under the creatures' glares.
"Mine is an accident of birth; no one deliberately becomes a Mercy--a Plague vampire--except out of desperation. And Spaucklerby was cursed by an accident in the Hewn City. Evil is by choice, not circumstance."
"Will you help us," Spaucklerby asks, angling her crests in a questioning manner.
"Of course! Where do I sign up?" you ask.

Welcome to the Water Flight's Vampires vs. Werewolves Monster
- Signups will begin on Friday, October 8.
- Participation caps at 24 players. I will only be able to update the main thread once a day over the weekend, so PLEASE check the thread first!
- If there is sufficient interest and time, I will create a pinglist for a second round.
- You will NOT be required to exalt/send me your participating roleplay dragon if they die during the event.
- Since the lore is severely modified from the original Hunger Games source material, the one male/one female for each district rule does not apply. You will merely be paired with a "companion" to hunt with.
- I will be using the BrantSteele Hunger Games Simulator as a basis for all events--with some additions. More in the next post.
- Roleplay is encouraged! Due to the graphic nature of Hunger Games, some violence is expected. However, be considerate of others and of the FR TOS. Keep it PG-13.
- Spectators are encouraged! Spectators are able to participate in a variety of ways...more in the next post.
