So, being on here for nearly six months, I haven't seen a thread dedicated to Headcanons quite yet, therefore, I have made one. Feel free to post any/every headcannon you have- though, before you do, make sure to read these few rules first:
- Keep it somewhat PG (not a crap ton of gore in other words.)
- Be respectful towards other players headcanons. (Don't harass others due to headcanons they may have, and do not insult others headcanons.)
- You can post as many times as you like, but if you have a lot to post at one time, then please keep it within the same post.

Vipera and Hypnotic genes originated in the tangled woods. Makes dragons much more camouflaged in those sorts of habitats, With clown and eyespots also coming from those regions.
Likewise bar/daub came from the viridian labyrinth, ripple/current from the sea of a thousand currents, circuit from the shifting expanse, etc.
tertiary genes can't quite be pinned to any one region of sornieth aside from the obvious circuit(some of them like spines being a bit dubious about whether they came from nature or water flights, smoke from either fire or wind, and what have you.).

Skydancers do funny dances to attract mates.
That's it, that's my main headcanon. My Sky-bbys doing funny dances all over the place and flaring their wings. Makes for a funny picture.

- I always imagined that Progenitors come directly from the god of their respective flight, and are therefore more sensitive to element-related shenanigans than regular dagons. For example, my progen Opal is in a RP with someone from the Shadow flight; she went to go visit, and is feeling uncomfortable because it's the land of her god's rival and she can "sense" that.
Does that make sense? :S
That doesn't mean they can never get acclimated; otherwise it would be unheard of for my clan's switch to Arcane, since apparently Light is weak to it. :P It just means they feel that sort of thing more strongly, yanno?
- Dragons reproduce by bopping noses together and magic. Eggs form from their combined magic, are all about the same size, and more magic happens when they hatch which explains why hatchlings can be so drastically different in size once they're born. Probably a bit too hand-wavey to catch on, but that's what I've always imagined.
- Tundras spend a lot of time grooming. An unhealthy or really old tundra might have mats in hard-to-reach places, and need assistance in taking care of them.

Imperials actually have a royal bloodline that has many offshoots. Imperial princes of a wide variety of degrees are actually pretty common and a lot of them like to take up roles of command in other lairs. Most of them are from Lair's other then the place of their hatching because they like to learn many things about the world to become a well-rounded royal. The Queen of Imperials is the Lightweaver and rather than acting as successors the 'royal bloodline' is more of a religious order.

Every hatchling sent to the Shadymum gets to be part of her eternally-young prank squad, roaming in groups around Sornieth playing tricks on everyone and gathering information for Mama. (It makes me feel less guilty about exalting hatchlings.)
Mirrors sound like Jurassic Park's velociraptors on a hunt. Wildclaws make some of the same sounds when they're startled or angry.

Because these places are technically neutral, they can be host to all kinds of shenanigans (including the auction house and trading post.)
Tundras are Sornieth's most fearsome breed. Not many know this but those who do fear them (Like geese)
