I like to check on what people do with the dragons I give/sell them and I noticed twice today that genes were removed from two of said dragons.... Cherub and glimmer, too. I don't think I'd consider myself angry or annoyed, just very confused as to why anyone would do that???? They were so beautiful ;_;

Edit at 8 pages: I guess I just really like the "fancy" genes and I am pretty breeding-dragons-and-making-money oriented--so when someone removes the cherub from a cherub/pere/glimmer noc I get frustrated at the loss of breeding potential. But I suppose in the end, the game is about getting dragons you like, huh?

Some people don't even like Glimmer and Cherub, and if the colours are fitting for project but the genes aren't well.

I don't like too cluttered dragons myself.

^That. I've removed genes from a couple of my dragons because I liked them better that way. One of my guys, for example, is Ivory Bar/Emerald Daub with Storm tert. When I purchased him, he had underbelly. He was great, except for one thing: Storm UB does not look so great with Ivory/Emerald, so it was off almost as fast as I'd bought him. (There is no possible tert gene that would ever make me like ivory/emerald/storm on him, so he remains without one.)

Sometimes the person wants the colour scheme but different genes. I mean, if it's a colour scheme needed for a dream dragon that has different genes... they'll get changed. Or if they like the colours but not the gene combo. Or a project that needs certain colours and genes.

I have a dragon I purposely removed Iri/Shim off of because I wanted him to be pure white without the sheen.

I don't really understand why basic is such a bad thing. Sometimes simple is the way to go, and I've removed some genes before, usually terts when even spines doesn't work. I've seen quite a few basic dragons that look absolutely great. My girl Libra has a basic white primary and I'd never have it any other way. Iri has that strange green hue, and every other gene is too busy. same as others. Many times the Basic gene is more fitting to a dragon than any other gene. So why not apply basic over the other gene?

I removed the tertiary on one of my dragons for the sale of making him darker but that's it as tar as terts go!

I have a buncha dragons with basic genes, sometimes it's best.
