Flight Rising Discussion

Hey guys, I'm Ice Flight but...things haven't been super 'cool' lately :'D
Like I mean I've got my own reasons 'n stuff for sayin' that but anyway.

Any Flight Suggestions? I'm thinking about joining Water but I don't know how any of the other flights handle Dom or transplants, so if you guys could give me any suggestions that'd be nice! Thanks!

Water, in my vacation there, was very nice! Everyone loves each other there. The forums didn't move too fast but everyone got to know everyone else, based on forum regularity, pretty quickly.

I've been in shadow (besides that little vacation) since the site opened. I love shadow, but with us being as big of a flight as we are, us getting dom is very, very difficult.

I hear that Earth is also very close knit in terms of community, and that everyone there is really nice!

But my big thing is Water. They were super friendly and they love everyone that goes there. I'd think you would be very, very much welcome there!

I'm glad that Water's nice, and I've been watching shadow's dom battle w/ nature this whole week and Hooo boy, I wish your flight luck and stuff.

well, i can't speak for any of the other flights, but in Lightning we're always happy to have transplants who like dom! our dom scene's been pretty slow recently, due to irl stuff with our dom team, but as evidenced by last week's (rather impromptu) push, many of us are eager to show off a bit. we're gonna be gearing up for a conquest against fire at the beginning of next year, with probably several profit pushes in between to help us prep. nothing set in stone right now, that i recall off the top of my head, though.

tl;dr lightning would be glad to have someone with dom motivations as we're climbing out of our slump!

edit: as to the rest of the flight stuff; well, our forums aren't the fastest in the world, but i've never met a nicer bunch of nerds. if you believe all the stereotypes about science and coffee, you'd be right about lightning. there's a general discord and a discord for our LGBT community, and a general slack server; both of those are more active than the forums, from what i can tell. there's the usual gene/lair expansion/vista support centers, soup kitchens, battlestone bank, lv 25 rental, etc. with lots of spreadsheets. swear to Bossdad, there are some spreadsheet wizards in lightning.

@MagicalPoptarts We shower anyone new to light with glitter. We have a really nice community with a food bank and stuff. We don't have the most active forums ever, but it's not, like, completely silent or anything. We're pretty good with dominance, as well.

@MagicalPoptarts I was forum surfing and saw your post XD So I decided to respond! Water would definitely be a nice fit for you I think, unless you would want to brave the chaos that is our flight during dom week hehe. And yeah, it's really hard to get a foothold because of our huge flight status--but a lot of people are enthusiastic about our chances! Me? I'm sort of... drained. Too drained from work to really care too much about the push, yknow? XD

@schaadenfreude Alright, thanks! I have a friend in Lightning and she seems to really like it so far. She switched from Arcane not too long ago, so I'll keep it in consideration!! I go pretty hard when it comes to Dom and i'm properly motivated/don't have work

@stealthclaw aw man I'm glad you did! XD I'm thinking about aesthetics as well when it comes to what flight I want to join. One of the reasons I joined ice was because I adore Snow and Ice and winter and stuff. So hopefully I can find a well-suited flight for my tastes as well c:>

I can't speak to Water, but I've been in several flights and they all have their own flavors. I started in Arcane, which was awesome and had a lot of energy - the only reason I left was because of the pink eyes! Then I went to wind, which was very chatty and welcoming but kind of all over the place (at least at the time).

Then I switched to Nature, which I'm never leaving. It's perfect for my personality, but I highly recommend it to anyone. It's so warm and caring, and we've got a ton of threads on animals and plants and wildlife and helping charities and stuff like that. Plus the pretty aesthetic everywhere is so calming ^_^

My sister was in Ice, Fire, Plague, and Light, lol. Fire was very quiet from what I could tell. Light has a lot of stuff on books and reading, and a lot of people there love lore. And plague is very dom-focused and will help you a lot with that, plus they talk about medical stuff and science a lot. Again, this is all second hand though!

In my opinion, out of the ones I listed, if you want dom stuff go to Light or Plague and you'll have lots of support. But any flight will be welcoming, it's just some focus on one thing or another more, you know?
