I'm having trouble getting excited about FR these days, especially about festivals.
It used to be; work really hard in the coli to get currency to get as many festival familiars and apparel as possible. They would become more precious and would rise in value over time, making the hard work worth it. It was a challenge to see how many of each you could get.
That's no longer the case since nothing really retires anymore. It's taken a lot of the fun out of festivals for me. I don't even bother to coli grind for currency, I just do my usual leveling exalt fodder and if I get some currency that's okay. I don't bother trying to get multiples of festival items anymore.
I think I'm not the only one - have you noticed how cheaply you can buy festival currency on the AH? It's like no one really wants it anymore cause what you buy with it isn't that precious.
Is it just me? Or did something get broken once nothing retires anymore?

I can relate somewhat! I used to be an avid collector of skins, thinking they would retain value, but I've since stopped and it's kinda a relief. I wasted so much of my treasure on skins I never used and/or don't even like. Once I realized how bad the investment was I'm just happy to pick and choose my favorites without worry.

I totally agree with you here. Festivals aren't worth grinding several hours for currency anymore. I've just been leveling and got what I wanted not bothering with extras because its not worth it anymore. Festivals really aren't as exciting as they used to be.

Same.. I think FR should have never done this.. I think the regular stuff should stay retired.. maybe they could have just released re-colours for joxar;s chests.. that seems fun.. but yeah festivals bore the crap out of me.. I pretty much don't grind anymore.

Agreed. I used to make my money during the holiday. Everything is too easy to get. I really don't mind grinding for stuff but it either doesn't sell or it goes for a pittance.

Yep. I still try to get multiples of each festival item but imo it was more fun when they retired and you would never have a chance to get them without buying it from the AH or getting it from user-run raffles or whatever.
I think items should have kept retiring. It takes the fun out of it when they don't. There's just not as much of a point anymore.

There's really nothing "new" on FR that's exciting to save up for anymore, either. Sure there's familiars and apparel but that's always been there. At a certain point, even the new stuff feels dull because it's always there over and over and over again.

I agree. The miserly businesswoman side of me is annoyed, because I used to be able to make quite a bit of money from festivals. But, on the flip side, as other people have said now I don't have to worry about missing festivals or skins and paying through the nose for them later. Which is really, really nice.
It definitely makes festivals less exciting, besides that first day when they show the new stuff.
