something i've been thinking about lately are imperial breed change scrolls. not about how expensive they are, but how they were a ks backer reward.
geneing your dragons is a big part of the game, so why is such a big part of the game limited to ks backers only?? i wouldn't be so bothered about this if there was ever a chance we would see imperial scrolls be rereleased, but there isn't, because it wouldn't be fair to ks backers who paid for one.
so what are your thoughts about the imperial scroll?? love it, hate it or don't care??

I'm fine with how it is, personally. It makes beautiful imps a little extra special, because they have to be bred that way, but it's not inconvenient enough that it's a game-breaking feature. I would definitely not want to see an imp scroll released anytime in the future; the market would have a collective seizure :/

I really do wish that people could have a chance to have a gen 1 imp, but unfortunately there are not enough scrolls, and the existing scrolls would cost waaaaay too much. I think it would be cool to introduce a "new" breed, such as a pygmy imperial. But it would be too much work to implement unfortunately.

Honestly, I'm fine the way it is. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE imperials, but I'm not one of those people who would go all out and actually buy a gene scroll. The players who had been here the longest have the right to have it (well, if they donated to the Kickstarter). Overall, I don't think it is much of a problem.

I'm neutral but I'm leaning more to hating it. The idea seemed nice at first, but yeah a big part of the game is breeding and changing your dragons around. The fact that one of the breed change scrolls is limited doesn't make any sense to me. I wish they had done something a bit differently with imp scrolls that wouldn't have made them so limited.

I think it makes sense, and I definitely respect the decision of the site to do it that way, but it makes me a little sad because imperials are my favorite breed.

Few games uphold their promises over the years when it comes to exclusive items, so I'm glad they're still exclusive.
Besides, it's not like we can't get any more Imperials, even if they're G2+. And the dedicated few can still trade for the unused Imperial scrolls floating around today. I'd say that's fair enough.

When I eventually get all of my gene and apparel goals accomplished (which won't be for some time, I have a huge to-do list), I'd like to, if not get a gen1 Imp or breed scroll, get an *old* Imp (so we're talking at least 14kg if not more). Is it gonna be painful to hoard all those gems and watch them go to a single dragon? Yes. Would I have liked to be able to change one of the babs from my recent birthday mass hatch to an Imp? Heck yes. But I'm not buttmad about people who got something exclusive because they backed the site when it was new. And I say this with Imperials and Coatls tied as my favorite breed; I utterly adore Imperials. If I had backed the site back in the day and been given something really rare for that support, I'd be kind of cheesed off if it suddenly became a thing everyone could have, because that defeats the point of something being rare/exclusive.
I don't mind questing for a really old one when I run out of things to do because I need to be challenged to stay interested.
But I'm also the same guy who's participating in the Extreme Patience Breeding Challenge which has a 0.81% chance of success (a triple Basic Plentiful and a Common with triple Common genes producing a triple Common bab), so my special brand of insanity isn't for everyone. :P

I mean. If the Imp scrolls were suddenly made available to everyone that's a huge middle finger to those who invested actual money into getting the site off the ground.
And you said so yourself! Giving genes to your dragons is a huge part of the game. There's a challenge in breeding a dragon with the colors and genes you want that is also an Imp!
