TOPIC | Selling first dragon(s)?
Quick question: Would you recommend selling your first dragon(s)?

Opinions would be great! :)

I am not currently planning to because I feel like that isn't a good idea for some reason? (Not planning to sell them regardless simply because I don't really have a reason to as of yet.)
Not sure if I heard that somewhere (on another game maybe)?

Oh and -- What exactly are Gen 1's? Progens?
Are those the first two dragons you get at start-up?

Just trying to learn as much as I can, lot's of information...

our progen is our first dragons and we cant sell them. gen 1 are dragons with no parents (hatched from egg or progens)

custom progens are the ones you chose the colours for. random progen is the dragon that comes with your first progen

that being said, you CAN exalt your progens for money but many choose not to

You can't sell your progens. They are the first dragons you got. They don't give you anything for exalting and you can't sell or trade them away

Your progens (progenitors) are the two dragons you got when first starting out. The one you picked the breed and colors of yourself is your custom progen, and the other one is your random progen. You can't give them to other players.

Gen 1 (first generations) are dragons from unhatched eggs that don't have official parents. It'll just say none where their parents would usually be listed. :)

Gen1's are dragons without parents. They're either given as your starting dragons or you can hatch them from unhatched eggs you find in the Coliseum/while Scavenging. Other than your very first progen, all three of their colors are randomized, so what I think people really like Gen1's for is the fact that they are a bit of a gamble. You can get lucky, pretty colors, or and unlucky mismatch.

As for your starting dragons, they can't be sold or traded. You can exalt them, but they won't give you treasure to exalt like other dragons will. Unlike other dragons, you can always restore them if you decide you didn't want them exalted later down the road.

@Hugh Progens/First gens are the dragons you first start with/ dragons hatched with eggs. Your progens are unsellable and untradeable so the only way to get rid of them is via exaltion. Dragons that are hatched from eggs, wont have parents so are refered to as "gen 1s" these are however tradable/ sellable, but don't go for as much as the actual egg. You can get these raw elemental eggs, from scavenging or the coliseum. Or brew Bogsneak eggs from Baldwin, or get some nocturne eggs from Night of the nocturne, an event only in December.

If you mean by first *bred* dragons (The ones that are hatched from your progens) That's up to you. Some people regret not having their first offspring others don't care that much so if it's personal to you then keep them.

If by first dragons you mean the two you were given when you opened your account (Progens), those are stuck on your account. They can't be sold or traded. They can however be exalted (and even brought back if you chose). They are also gen 1s but a special kind.

If you mean the hatchlings from the eggs of their first nest.. some people chose to keep them but I've noticed that most sell them. Do be aware that chances are they're going to be fodder meaning that they will be bought by another player, leveled up, and exalted for treasure. It really depends.. are you going to want to use them in lore? Really it's all up to you.

Gen 1's are dragons found from eggs. They have no parents and start off with triple basic genes. Most of the time the colors are garbage but some users like the process of geneing them up so that they are something that's nice to look at. The market is flooded currently with gen 1s so I would honestly recommend selling any eggs you find.

Let me know if I didn't explain something enough for you! Welcome to FR!

@Hugh - I've kept both my progens. Oceania, my custom progen, is the leader of my clan and SandDune, my random progen, oversees the training of all the dragons in the clan. I like having them as they are the founders of my clan. They are reminders of the very beginning of everything for me here. It may not be cheap to gene them up, but there is always skins and accents you can have them wear until you can afford it. Personally, I've never liked my random progens colors. He has 3 shades of brown. So he has always worn skins. LOL While we're on the subject of keeping first dragons, I wish I had kept one of the hatchlings from my first nest. That would be great for lore and nostalgia reasons. And I really, really wish I had kept the dragon that hatched from the first egg I found. She was the first dragon I had after my progens.=D
