I read the update a few days ago and I'm actually really excited for this. The eye stuff has rekindled a will to breed my dragons again, but... I cannot overcome the feeling of "do not want to bother with this" in regards of trying to keep my lair fed. It has grown pretty big over the years and I've pretty much thrown in the towel on being active at all because keeping them all fed felt like such a chore.
Yes, I know that there are ways to make it easier by buying food, but just gold grinding in itself is repetitive and dull after nearly 5 years on the site. I just want to breed pretty dragons and not have to worry so much about getting all the different types of food.
So hibernal den sounds amazing and I can't wait, but it'd be nice with a vague timeframe to have something at least slightly tangible to look forward to other than just the concept.

As of now there's no date mentioned other than somewhere between now and the next anniversary, but we'll probably hear more when the update gets nearer.

The admins don't give ETAs anymore because they often can't meet them so yeah... unless they're really confident, there won't be any word on them.

Which is best; coding can throw up really odd errors or issues that can take ages to solve even if they seem really simple. Better that they don't put a date then they can't miss it and we get the feature at the same time, without the worry or pain of missed deadlines.
So yeah we just have to play the waiting game
