gentle reminder that it's perfectly okay to give any dragon a gem gene if you want it on them. they're your dragons, who cares if they have no parents or not! it doesn't matter if the best dragon you bought off the auction house was bred. and hey, unnamed dragons are valid too- there are hundreds of ways to go with the lore, and remember if you're worried about lore just say in their bio that they don't have parents or kids. bam. easy win. let the collectors scream and just enjoy your dragons because it's a game, and what you do doesn't affect anyone else.
so go out there, buy some fodder and give it starmap! who cares! just play how you want.
i'm adding both shh
^^^
YES let your dragons have unique colors
^^THIS i found out that one of my fav dragons' mom was breedchanged to a skydancer from a noc
^^when you find the perfect colors but you just don't like the breed/need it to be different
also mini disclaimer i'm not trying to say that g1s aren't cool it's just that they usually get A LOT more attention!

Also adding that it's okay to re-apply basic to any dragon you like. Sometimes basic just works best!

and basic boys are a-okay! your dragons don't need to have gem genes or any at all to be beautiful

Nobody else should dictate your playstyle. If a bred dragon works best, they work best! What's the point of breeding projects, since the end derg isn't g1, otherwise?

It did remind me of another point, though. XXYs, XYXs, XYYs, XXXs... they're not the only valid ones. XYZ Gen1s (and non-g1s!! ~e) are just as valid, even if they aren't even remotely close to a double/triple.
TenderVulture wrote on 2018-08-18 14:27:51:
Non-G1s are perfectly acceptable! I love dragons with long bloodlines that I can go through and see all the ancestors, siblings, and distant cousins.

all dragons are valid.
if you like it, good.
if your thing is gen 1s good, unpopular dragons are good too.
no thing needs to outshine the others whatever you like is important to you, who cares what others like.

Shoutout to people who prefer less popular breeds like Snappers and Tundras, too - if you're happy with your dragons, that's what's important. They're yours, and they don't have to make anyone happy but you. It would be very silly if someone tried to shame another person for having dragons that don't match their taste.

You also shouldn't feel bad about changing a rare breed such as Wildcla to plentiful like Tundra. Don't let anyone guilt trip you for it, it's not a waste!
