Can we talk about (exalted) unnamed parents? Thoughts?? Which would you be more upset over, if you cared at all?

(Note, neither really bothers me enough to get upset and nothing happened to bring this up, I just got the idea and wondered what people thought!)

I don't care if a dragon has offspring, and they can be as unnamed and exalted as they want. However, I do not buy dragons with unnamed parents.

It's just one of many ways I limit the pool of dragons that I could potentially get.
And I enjoy the creative aspect of parent names! My favourite parentage has to be GummiBurst and SeahorseRhapsody :D

@Rahkali don't much care about unnamed parents tbh. i have a few in my lair and i usually just take that as an excuse to give a dragon a tragic backstory ahhaha. ^^;

not related to your question at all but it reminded me that one of my oldest dragons has parents who are both called Nope. her parents are nopenope and idk it always makes me giggle to look at.

as someone who mostly collects g1s that she doesn't breed this isn't a topic i engage with a lot but yeah. nopenope

That's actually a good idea! I thought about different ways of using it in one of my girl's backstory but I'm really bad about actually writing lore out so it'll likely never happen ^^' I love your imp girl now tho, she's amazing and her parents are amazing and that had me in giggle fits too so thank you for that

I feel you on the gen1 thing, I'm slowly shifting to a mostly gen1 lair and I never thought about it before either.

@Rahkali totes understandable. lore is so hard to write like what is effort ugh. but yeah i've done kidnapped by slavers, orphaned, lost in a storm, runaways who don't wanna share their past, all kinds of stuff.

i actually bought a breeding pair for the first time in ages just recently bc i want lore ties ya know? and i have names for the parents but they're cryptids so i kinda wanna leave them unnamed?? idk

good luck with your transition! i wanted to go completely g1 but i'm sentimental trash and i just. couldn't do it lol.

honestly, i find unnamed parents easier to deal with than unnamed kiddos. i can chalk unnamed parents up to the dragon not wanting to talk about it but the kiddos? i know that many people gloss over this in lore by saying they died w/o names but usually people name babies that pass so idk i find it difficult

I think it's sad to see hatchlings that never got a chance to have a decent name, but I'm not bothered much about it.

It bothers me a little, but not enough to truly care, if that makes sense? Worst comes to worst, I can make it so that the Unnameds are the derg in my lair's grandparents.

I care less for unnamed offspring than parents, though I prefer no unnamed at all... I have one dragon with parents like that, and this is not a problem lore wise (unknown parents, names forgotten...), but I am feeling so dumb when I myself forget to name offspring... that happened once for a full nest.
So tragic lore. ;-;
