Hi, it's been a while. A couple years in fact, but I came back to FR thanks to a bit of nostalgia and I'm curious if people still feel the same about stuff as they did in the past.
So tell me? Do you like the Coli? Hate it? Does it make no sense? What about it excites/frustrates you? I want to know!
**Edit: First of all I just wanna say thanks to everyone who welcomed me back so warmly, it's really appreciated and tbh I always missed the community and how generally kind and patient they were to old newbie me. As for what I've been reading, it's pretty interesting. It seems most are in agreement though that, while tedious, the 'turn off your brain' nature of coli is something people enjoy. I'm kinda surprised not to see more hate about dodge though. ^^

Umbreeunix hi! first off, welcome back! c:
as for the coli, i don’t necessarily
like the coli grinding, but i do spend a lot of time there anyway doing just that or leveling exalt fodder. does kind of get tedious after a while with all the repetitiveness, but nothing beats the feeling of getting a rare drop~

Umbreeunix Hello, welcome back!! As for me, I do like the coli, especially during festivals and such, but sometimes I do get frustrated and have to take a break for a while. I usually train fodder or grind for festival currency and such, but honestly I don't think I spend
too much time in there :)

I love coli grinding, very addictive

I'll make a nice signature eventually :(
It's boring but I use fodder as motivation to get in there b/c I actually enjoy having treasure on hand. Who'da thunk? It's nice to do with a podcast in the background tho.

Welcome back!
Check out
Louretta's Chronology for all the updates you missed.
Biggest coli changes:
First turn bug fixed!
Saved parties.
Hotkeys!
Eliminate is now incredibly rare and not available in the Crystal Pools/Mire.
Love the coli. It rains precious treasure all day.

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.
Have you checked the
Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in
5g?

I like it when I've got a specific goal in mind; such as boss hunting in the Golem Workshop, or NOTN/fest farming. Fodder leveling's a relatively standard thing and the keybinding's make it such that I can usually put something else on in the background and split my focus.

The coli is painfully boring to me, in all honesty, but I do it anyway because money.
It's ridiculously unbalanced (stat-wise) and, in its current state, serves as nothing more than a tool for exalting unless you happen to be incredibly lucky.

I find it incredibly tedious but I guess technically I like it? Or at least the profit. Like if I could do anything else to make consistent cash I probably would.
I just wish it wasn't so... idk. Boring feels like the wrong word but it's just the same series of 3 - 4 clicks over and over and over again. Sparsely broken up by a capthca or a refresh. It's a nice money maker and one of the only ways to make real bank on the site. Not to mention festivals or 'mini-events' are based around spending hours grinding. So I imagine for most of us it's just something we've learned to tolerate although obviously there are cases of people enjoying the repetitive nature of it.
If I can get into a rhythm or am training a perma dragon I can end up there for hours but I always feel like I could have spent that time doing something more... fun.
I grind mostly at work since I work 3rd shift and have a LOT of spare time. When I can I try to play videos or something and split the screen between that and the coli so I don't get too bored.
Edit: While I do not think it will EVER happen, something more similar to like... an rpg system might be less mindless. Probably older pixel/2D ones or something. Having a character on a map, walking around, random battles or roaming enemies you walk into. It would be easier for farming specific mobs since the mob you walk into would at least be part of the party of mobs you'd end up fighting, Towns or map spaces based on elements, etc etc. Just SOMETHING to cut the tedium.
