When the team announced they were breaking their usual design rules you’d been expecting something big, spectacular. A multi-headed hydra, a true wyrm, something like that! Not ‘a tundra but big horns and small wings’. Your day’s been ruined.
And you can’t even sell the scrolls! Thank the Tidelord you hatched a good Gen 1 a few days earlier that you can apply the scroll to. That’ll sell for something on the Auction threads, right? Better get selling now before they drop to fodder floor in 20 days.
So you’ve applied the scroll to the Gen 1 and head to the AH, ready to set a high instant buy price. 1000g is probably a good amount. You click Post Auction, and this pops up:

What in the name of Shade was this? There wasn’t anything called ‘jailing’ mentioned in the update. It’s got to be a glitch or something, not being able to even sell the damn thing would just be the inconvinience cherry on top of a disappointment cake.
You reread the update post but nope, no mention of Gaolers ‘jailing’ anywhere. The forums are in turmoil though, as one by one people begin discovering it. No Gaolers can be sold: any attempt to sell them always results in that same message.
Tired and frustrated beyond belief, you head to bed. They’ll probably have fixed it in the morning.
It’s the next morning; you get up, remember yesterday’s travesty and open your lair.

...This was getting ridiculous. Either another glitch had happened, or this stupid update was affecting the dragons you actually liked?? The ones you spent over 6000 gems gening??. This better not do anything to them, nothing irreversible at least.
You click on one of your own dragons, one with the jail symbol underneath it. Nothing seems too out of the ordinary, except for a new piece of apparel? A pair of shackles, rusted and frosted, strung across the dragons forelegs and hindlegs. The description says ‘Ancient Cuffs: An old tool, thought to have been used by primordial dragons’. Its wings, as well, seem different, with a hint of black lining the edges.
...Again, probably just a glitch. It’ll be fixed. Luckily the apparel can apparently be removed, and you take it off of all your affected dragons. The little jail symbol goes away.
Next you click on one of the Gaolers, and its description...isn’t empty? You definitely didn’t put anything in its bio. But what’s there is too specific to be a glitch. It reads:
‘The dragons around me have be contained, for fear of their miserable Shade-touched scales spreading the infection. They will be protected. We do not make mistakes.’
You laugh nervously, delete the bio, try to sell again. No luck. Ah well, tomorrow is another day.
Tomorrow comes.
The dragons you removed apparel from have the jail symbol again. Others that didn’t previously have it are now afflicted as well.
Not all of your dragons have the jail symbol, but all of them have the dark-edged wings.
Some of them are smiling.
The Gaoler’s bio is different now.
