So far, all the ancient genes are for Gaolers, as indicated by "Gaoler" being written in brackets by the gene name. I assume these will not be able to be used on other ancient breeds. Do you guys think we'll be getting new Gaoler genes, even after other ancient breeds are released? Will there be genes for ancients in general, rather than only ones for specific breeds? Can we draw conclusions that the genes we know from the modern breeds originated from the ancient breeds that also have them? (Like, "Gaolers brought Rosette into the modern dragon gene pool.") What do you guys think?

after other ancients are released? Probably not. The ancient breeds are designed to ease up on the amount of assets needed for the artists to be able to release new breeds quicker.

as for the "general" ancient genes, i can imagine the devs editing the carryover genes to be applicable to all ancients IF they intend for all ancients to have all the same modern carryovers. but i don't think the gaoler specific ones like gnarlhorns or phantom will be an all ancient gene.

I feel like there's a possibility of new modern genes getting goaler (or other ancient breed) versions as they're released. It just won't be every future gene for every ancient breed, just ones the art team feels like doing.
