TOPIC | Shower Thought: Age Difference
1 2
This came as a random shower thought, not relevant to my own lair or any other lair I know, so just a quick survey on this randomness.

If a user makes a pairing of two dragons in a clearly romantic relationship but with an age difference: one in adult form and one eternal youth. Of course this is not about breeding, and ALSO the gijinka or the lore setting does not really refers to an age difference: they’re both adults or both youths in their lore.

Basically, when this visual age difference only exists in the official dragon image because of aethestic reasons. How many people would find this offensive? How many would think this is no problem?

No right and wrong on this, it just came to me randomly and I’d like to know what others think.

I don’t think it’s a problem. I would just see it as “ person a loves person b, but one is just a tiny thing “.

can't really be offended because pixels, esp if the lore treats them as a definite [normal] way. sometimes people just like the look of permababies vs adults. as long as they don't imply anything weird about it then /shrug/ i say have at it

tbh it totally depends on lore? and like, how they reason the appearance of a child. if looking like a child is just like, oh theyre very small but otherwise fully grown, yeah ok.

but if its like, claudia from interview with a vampire, like full "oh theyre 100 years old but physically frozen in time as a child" its... weird.

Uhh...

Well, since the name "scroll of eternal youth" outright states that the dragon it's applied to is physically (which highly implies mentally as well) a child forever, trying to write said dragon into a relationship with one lacking a EY scroll is going to read as a bit unsettling regardless of how you twist it.

Why would anyone want to do this to begin with? Just settle for one or the other. Write/draw one as tiny. It's that simple.

I think perma-youthful dragons in general are a weird concept. An adult dragon that looks like a child is bound to be uncanny in some way

Just clarifying a little, I’m thinking of the case similar to for example, where one dragon is a 0.2kg eternal youth fae in fr stats you see on the page, but in lore that dragon is described as a 5kg full-sized adult fae, so the difference is irrelevant to the lore itself. :)

Seems fine, maybe the person just likes the line art better. It would be like having chibi art of a dragon because the owner prefers the chibi style.

In game terms it's still considered a child though, but if people only take what the game says the dragon is then why do they care about anything in their bio says? Including that they are dating.
