Title kinda says all.

Basically, ever since I started playing FR, I can never agree on a lair style / theme. For example, every single time I take a hiatus of any amount, I always come back and hate my lair because of it's current theme.

So now I'm asking you all; How can I settle on a good lair style that I won't want to change all the time? I'm not asking for actual style suggestions, just some tips on how to stick with one.

Don't stick with a certain theme/style rigidly. Allow yourself to mesh different ideas or different dragons that appeal to you. Be flexible and allow your lair to be flexible, so as different ideas grab your interest you don't end up hating everything that came before because they don't fit anymore.

find some aesthetic that really calls to you, and create a tab for it. repeat, and then decide which one/ones you like best, and stick with that!

Personally I don't think you should start with a theme or a style. Start with dragons you like, pick the colors, genes and breeds you adore the most. If you really like a dragon chances are you will keep them. After that think a bit about lore, what types of settings you like, how the dragons would fit in. For me I got my dragons, thought about the setting I liked and only then a style / theme was born. But even then it should have some space to grow and change if necessary.

First and foremost you should think about what you actually like.

Step 1. Buy all the pretty dragons
Step 2. Name your lair tab "party mix"

I dont have a strict aestethic, why would i having all these amazing color and apparel combinations?

yeah, i'd say just don't confine yourself to a theme at all
my lair style is that i get any dragons i think are pretty and then i put them in alphabetical order so i can feel organized

Tbh I'd agree with a lot of advice in this thread. Don't force yourself to stick to one aesthetic, chances are if you pick up only dragons you like you'll develop some sort of aesthetic. Plus with lair tabs/the den, it's easier than ever to separate dragons into different aesthetics. You don't have to have one at all if you don't want to, but you can just as easily have multiple aesthetics if you want. And above all have fun! This is just a game, you don't have to stress out about this.

It's best to just... live with it. Don't make up a theme. If the theme-making stresses or somehow binds you, don't do it.

For example, my lair is a bunch of weirdos. That's the charm, they have traits what seem off. They're not based upon something what I personally like - heck, if I had free time and patience I would actually make up my lair consisting of actual beetle species. But because of those two mentioned things... and their lack also... it hasn't happened, and will never happen :)
