TOPIC | FR's breeding sure doesn't feel like RNG
Just sayin'... Starting to doubt that it's strictly rng and that there's some algorithm where certain colors have a lower percentage to hatch. :/ My boyfriend has been breeding two dragons for me for months to try to get white/banana/robin with light eyes. Both dragons have banana/robin already, both are plentiful breed, and they're pink/white. So that shouldn't be too hard to get, right? Wrong. Antique 2. Cream 3. Cream 4. Pearl 5. Maize 6. Pink 7. Cream 8. Antique 9. Cream 10. Pearl 11. Pink 12. Cream 13. Antique 14. Antique 15. Antique 16. Pink 17. Pink 18. Rose 19. Maize 20. Cream 21. Pearl 22. Rose 23. Antique 24. Pink
Still no white in sight. We've literally been breeding them since gaolers came out. Couple that with the fact that the end result needs to be female and you've got a whole new mess of frustration; I'm awaiting the day white finally shows itself and it winds up being male and the process takes 20+ hatches later.

Wrong.

@LittlePeridot Put the pair into Foresee Progeny, got a White Female Fae first click. You’ve just entered the void at this point; I really hope you get the dragon you want soon! They’re incredibly cute, so good luck to you! Might have to give the parents an Apparel of Shame, haha! Just keep goin, you can do it!

the rng is... really interesting. i like to breed pairs with huge colour ranges. whenever i hatch a nest with a range that should span half the colour wheel, all the hatchlings are the same! they're all blue, or they're all yellow with green-range terts, or all have red-range secondaries. i like it, but it's weird. it's made me swear off intentional breeding projects, because i can't handle the psuedo-random frustration.

Oof...that is some bad RNG luck. I checked out your pair in the probability calculator, and from my experience, 15% chance and above usually means you can get what you want in like 3-4 nests. It's not bad odds. I personally try to aim for 12-15% with my own projects; 20% and above is the ideal.

So yeah, just keep trying and best of luck with your project!
