So, uh, I was writing lore for Heir here. And it sort of got me thinking.
Sornieth isn't Earth, obviously. So it might have multiple suns and/or moons. I mean, take Saturn or Jupiter, for example. They both have multiple moons, right? And, if I remember correctly, wasn't there a planet in Star Trek or Star Wars or something that had like three different suns?
But, I read through the lore as much as possible. And unless I missed something, there is absolutely no mentions anywhere about how many suns or moons Sornieth has.
So, uh, for the purpose of lore. Does anyone actually know how many suns and moons Sornieth has, or do we just make that up as we go?

I think it was never really said how many moons there are, just that is it one to two?
Yeah, I found the post again where it speaks of it:

It's not much, but I hope it helps :)
(Edit: words are hard in the morning XD)

I havent really thought about it, but Ive heard of a few people who go for two moons and one sun. Ive not heard of more than one sun in lore, but I suppose that is possible. Several moons could be cool.

I read through that link, and I though of Brothermoons from Dead Space. The moons could just be far apart at the same times. One moon might orbit the other. One of the moons might be really dark and only show sometimes. Magic could make one moon sometimes be there, sometimes not. Etc.
It might not be a moon at all but another body in space that is in Sornieths skies for a while and then goes away for a while. Maybe on an annual schedule even!

I like that idea, magic making a moon appear or disappear at any time. It would be pretty neat to have a magical eclipse.

that's not a moon-
Ahem
Anyway, I agree with the people in the linked thread and wish to know how you can be unsure of how many moons there are? But I've always headcanoned two or more, and toyed with the idea of Brightshine being the time when they all appear in the sky and either Trickmurk or NOTN falling on a time when none of them are visible at night.

One sun, two moons, and apparently a lot of unknown celestial objects (which leads me to believe Sornieth has an astral belt of some kind - like a ring).

I remember hearing from someone, somewhere that the Shadow icon is actually a representation the two moons of Sornieth, although I can't remember where I heard it.
The First Age's encyclopedia entry does mention a single star, though:
In the beginning of time, a great chaos rang out in the darkness, shining brilliantly in the form of a billion small star fragments. Amidst the emptiness, a handful of these shards combined and churned themselves into a series of heavenly bodies, quietly floating around a young sun.
It also mentions how Sornieth is the fourth planet in its solar system and the only one in its system that has magic:
It did not stop there, however. The fourth-furthest world in this celestial family appeared to be having troubles forming. While the other bodies were solidifying, it remained calamitous, suffering from years upon years of explosive tumult.
Magic.
Unlike its brother and sister realms, this fledgling planet teemed with unimaginable energies. As chunks of stone and dust smashed against one another, they prevented the perfect astronomic harmony needed to truly form a world.
Perhaps the reason that the Arcanist and his followers can't decide whether there are one or two moons is because their orbit is such that one often hides behind the other. I don't know if astronomers have figured out what a typical multi-moon orbit would look like to an observer on a planet, but I would assume it wouldn't be unheard of for multiple moons to be eclipsing each other constantly.

I think it was said somewhere by the Staff that Sornieth has at least two big moons
