...Do you still own?

I still own my first 5 dragons, including the very first dragon I ever purchased. I've exalted my progens though, haha.

I was sorting through my hibden today, which I've just been kinda stuffing random dragons in, and never noticed until now how much of my old lair I still have. I've exalted a bunch, sure, but I'm pretty sure I have most of the dragons I purchased within my first month of playing.

I'm curious, how much of your first lair (I'd say like first month/month and a half of playing?) did you keep? All of em? None of em?

I have both my progens, one of my two newbie gift dragon, and my first bought dragon. (Well, second bought. My first bought was a mistake purchase that I exalted like 10 seconds later.) I also still have the result of my first breeding project!

I'm extremely picky with my dragons, so it's rare that I'll let one go.

Quite a lot of it! While a few have been exalted, and one other sold, I stopped playing at a time where all dragons were still pretty valuable, and came back at one where six-digits were worth 100kt+. So here we are, my original dragons preserved in amber. And the fandragons and g1s still reside amongst my fandragons and g1s, of course. ^^;

I don't necessarily care overmuch for all of these dragons - they were purchased at a time when tertiaries were an 'i'll-never-get-that' afterthought and eyes were 'eyes what eyes' - there are some that are just sort of 'there', but I could never get rid of them now. At most, den.

I would posit that nowadays, the low prices and high availability means that people can accumulate dragons rapidly without really getting attached to them. Doesn't help that newbies are often getting dragons foisted on them by strangers who want their progeny to be kept by someone. But my first dragons were costing me 20kt as ungened hatchlings. It was hard enough to buy an adult to help your progens in the coliseum, much less one ready to breed. So there was real excitement to obtaining any dragon, whether purchased or bred. That was starting to fade by the time I stopped playing (December 2013, ish), and it was mainly later acquisitions that ended up on the chopping block.

I'm the kind of person where if I get attached to something, I have a very hard time giving it up. Because of this, I still have a lot of my first lair. My first ever dragon, other than my progens is now my Mire trainer. His name is Verity and was a newbie gift. The first dragon I bought is a blue and white bogsneak named Orcia, who I'm currently training to level 25 (she's 21 right now). I found her on the first page of the AH on my first visit and liked her looks.

As for hatched dragons, I still have all three of my progenitors' first hatch, and plan on giving them genes soon. My first gen1 is still around, though regretfully I ended up breeding him with another gen1. My memory gets a bit fuzzier after this but I do still have a lot of earlier hatches.

-Margaux, the second dragon I ever bought
-Minerva, a dragon given to me from a friend as a 'welcome to FR' gift
-Lirael, who I bought not long after to be her mate
-BlueStone, also given to my by a friend when she joined (we joined in the same welcome week (wow) & son of her progens)
-Zeus
-Alnilam (third dragon I ever bought)

Edit: I still remember the first dragon I ever bought as well, I forgot her name but my sister bought her a while ago when I wanted to get rid of her <3

I have nine of my first dragons, including both my progens. I labeled them all in their bios as "founders" and in my lore that's exactly what they are - the founders of the clan. They are Shar, Kayu, Hudson, Riverwanderer, Violet, Tannie, Moonbiter, Lenka, and Marrow. This is not in any way all of them - I've fallen out of love with at least four or five that I remember off the top of my head and they ended up exalted.

I also have a few who haven't quite been here long enough to be ""founders"", but I've had them for almost as long, like Starrunner, Bok, Rigil, and Tinker.

All of them, except for two of the children of two dragons I bred. One of them went to a friend, and I exalted the other. I also gave away one of the dragons I bred because while the dragons in question looked nice, their children not so much

hmmm, not sure when i bought some of my dragons, but i know 4 i've had since the first month.

Maybe... half of them? I mostly bred them to death so quite a few ended up exalted. Still got my progens, Seaheart, Leaf, and Cal... possibly Megrez was bought in that timeframe too. Oh, and I have Rei and Opal from then but... Idk if either will remain in my lair like the first four I mentioned.
