For all y'all who have dergs with full skins, imagine taking the skin off. Copying any lore it has. Yeeting the dragon. Getting a new one and putting the skin and lore on that new dragon.

If you were to do that, do you accept it as the same dragon?

I have a derg with a full skin (who isn't my progen) who I don't think I would be able to accept another derg if I'd replaced him. Which is weird because I'm breeding a copy of a different derg I used to have who didn't wear a full skin and I'm accepting that as the same dragon, but somehow my brain will not accept a copy of the most replacable dragon in the entire lair.

I don't have any (i do have an invis cloak dragon?), but I wouldn't D: I wouldn't re-breed most of them either, unless I hadn't settled on some aspect of them (like eye colour on a project dragon, as long as I hadn't named a version of that project dragon yet.) Partially cus a lot of my dragons are older and so the ID would look a lot different.

I've done that several times. I'm in the process of replacing all my permas with matching G1s.

Still the same dragon to me. The dragon itself matters less than the art/lore.

No full skins but I do have a Marva cloak.

I replaced quit a few of my oldies and i think ultimately all the dragosn in my lair are replaceable.

However i won't feel the same way toward them that i felt about the one that as been replace.
When i replace a derg it's closer to "this is a new version of X" rather then this is the new X.

It's more a version2.0 of a perma rather than a clone.

I would be okay replacing my full skin boy, except he has an offspring list in progress that's already over a year in, so I'd have to replace him and his mate and start all over and just nope, not worth it

i did this several times with only accents. i don't care as much for the dragon itself as for the character i made for it. it's easy to just put that on a different one

No, I wouldn't be able to accept that. My boy Amadeus is my only fully-skinned dragon, but he's really special to me. One of the first dragon purchases I made, and part of my main coli team, which I self-statted and trained from the bottom up. I could never replace him. ;;
