Summer is a long-distant memory now, and deep in the thrall of autumn, winter is beginning to loom ahead. Finding dragons who care about the harvest in a flight full of dragons who face away from Sornieth, and up into the deepest depths of space instead, is a challenge, but even scholars must eat. And so, while most residents continue to observe the stars in a dedicated oblivion, those whose job it is to keep said dragons fed begin the hustle and bustle of harvest. Entire clans band together, finding fun and enjoyment as they collect in the crops. Excited hatchlings, not yet old enough to join in the gathering itself, are left to play with whatever their creative minds come up with. Piles of leaves are gathered and jumped through, pits full of corn are swum through as though water. Pumpkins - at least, those that survived the Hallowe’en festivities - are tossed around in ball games, or carved into warm, homely scenes; a vast contrast to the horrors of last month. The most important job, of course, is making sure that the harvested food makes it to the Observatory. Dragon after dragon makes the journey, leaving their clan to ensure the duty of keeping the scholars fed is completed. Even dragons from other flights come to help, collecting food from the harvesters on their way to serve at the Observatory.
