I recently decided to work towards becoming a g1 lair, and it's nice for a while when a project is finished, but I'll look at my lair, see the random lack of theme or aesthetic, and not really feel any joy. I do feel like sticking to one aesthetic is too difficult and I could easily get bored, so does anyone have tips on this?

i split my clan into two because the wind flight looked really appealing and i wanted an emo water clan

Do whatever makes you happy. I just buy what dragons i think are pretty... and that's pretty much my lair "theme" lol

i relate to this so much. my lair is causing me a lot of distress rn and i dont really know what to do about it? ... i'm really waiting for a new breed to come out to get the "oh, new shiny" factor (modern breed, not ancient), but also theres no guarantee i'll even like the new breed...
I agree that having on aesthetic is incredibly difficult, but like others have suggested, tabs are your friend and you can group dragons by aesthetic so it looks cohesive when you look through your lair.

I get what you mean, been feeling a bit iffy and restless about my lair configuration for a while now.
I want a g1 lair, but I always end up buying pretty dragons off the AH for instant gratification.

Personally I'm much more satisfied now we have tabs and the Hib Den. Before there were so many dragons I like the look of but they didn't quite fit, now I can pop them in the Hib Den in a particular collection, and keep my main active tab for my "just right" lore dragons, many of which are up to 6 years old and complete stalwarts of the lair.

i feel the same, sometimes i want small G1 lair with a set aesthetic.. but at the same time, there are sooo many different colors and genes and combos, i could never restrict myself to just one!

Sometimes I love my lair, sometimes I see someone else's beautiful lair and mine just feels inadequate.
I always loved seeing lairs with a cohesive colour scheme/theme so I started out with just pastel colours, then I realised that I like a lot of different aesthetics. So before lair tabs came out I decided to have a different theme on each page of my lair. It took a while and looked like a mess for a long time as I didn't have enough gen ones to fit the pages (and most of the ones I did have were ungened and just had accents slapped on them to hide that fact) but I like how it looks now...until I see someone else with a nicer lair lol :P
