noticed this little thing the other day and its kind of starting to bug me-
flight rising artists seriously undercharge
this is excluding art shops & adoptables that aren't treasure/gems only, as well as artists who keep their prices low due to insecurity or wanting to keep their art accessible to younger players.
heres an example (this screenshot comes from a friend, so im not positive who did the artwork, sorry!)

while this fluctuates i've usually seen the standard exchange rate being 1 gem = 1000 treasure, and 100 gems = one real life US dollar. so, 1 gem/1000 treasure = $0.01
so, say, an artist does an art piece and charges $30 for it. this would mean it costs 3000 gems or 3 million treasure.
as a general rule, you're much more likely to have a higher worth of gems in your funds- this seems to be because even though gems are very valuable, they're also very easy to obtain. the opposite can be said for treasure.
so, logically, the artist would be paid in gems instead of treasure. so now, they have 3000 gems. this doesn't seem like an issue at first, especially considering that most user shops take both treasure and gem currencies.
but when it comes to things like the marketplace, it seems to sort of become... a difficulty? say, the artist wants a gene that costs 300k treasure. they don't have that much treasure, and they can't buy the gene in gems, so they have to work around the problem somehow, mayhaps by finding someone who is willing to buy them the gene in turn for it's worth in gems.
not entirely sure if there's a gem -> treasure exchange shop, but this still seems kind of ehhh to me.
because of the difficulty, the artist decides to cut their prices down to $15/1500 gems or 1.5mil treasure, which is more affordable for most users. therefore, the artist is being underpaid for their creative efforts.
i'm probably overthinking this, but does no one else like, see the issue here? idk, it just bothers me to see artists charging 5kt, 50kt, 100kt, etc for their art
i did leave before so maybe prices have inflated a bit and the exchange rate is a tad higher, but i hope you see where im coming from
every artist is free to charge their own prices, but the equivalent of $1.50 for an art piece that seems like it would've taken hours to make just seems... unfair
i feel like maybe people are forgetting that art is a luxury and the artists behind it deserve ample pay for their efforts, especially considering how LONG some of these art pieces could take to create
shrug. just my thoughts on the matter.
