So i was curious earlier today about what the dispersion for progenitor breeds was, and decided to crunch some numbers and make some pie charts!

Not too surprised about that one, really.

Nor about this, though I was expecting mirrors to be higher than faes. Not any massive disparities across the board, though.

Not surprising, either. The rarer the breed, the more expensive the breed scroll, generally speaking.

Now this is the one that surprised me. I was taken aback by just how many progenitors were gaolers, considering how recently they had come out, but it's also understandable because they're ancients and a special breed in their own right. Was expecting imps, snappers, and bogs to all be low, too. Skydancers are pretty high too, but they're a popular breed as well so it makes sense.
Overall was pretty interesting to dig into!

That's alot of gaolers! Though I guess the free gaoler scrolls did help.
& Seeing as 1 of my progens is a guardian and the other is a Skydancer...I'm just a contributing factor towards the majority LOL

Now what's truly amazing is that there's only 170 more Snapper progens than there are Imperial progens :')

@russeyblue
Were you pulling your numbers from both exalted and not exalted?
Edit: Nevermind I forgot I could just check, definitely all, but now I'm curious about the numbers for those not currently exalted. Bet that skews away from the common.
Also, guardians [emoji=heart size=1]

I'm surprised more people don't breed change their progens!
I have the dragon cash to breed change mine, but ended up deciding against it. I designed my custom specifically as a Fae as my first choice (it's only by pure chance that the breed I chose before signing up is a plentiful), and my random has being a Tundra as an essential part of her lore so I can't change her.

The RNG taketh, and the RNG taketh more. The RNG does not give.

I like my progens original breeds and it feels fitting I guess? My progens mate however, was changed to a Noc cause I thought they were cool and I couldn't figure out how to deal with F Mirrors at the time haha

i exalted mine again... oop...
but yes, thanks for the visual! i don't personally see a lot of gaoler or pearlcatcher progens, so this is very interesting. mine have both been changed to skydancers tho o:

That is some impressive number crunching, I bow down.
Matches my actions, breed-changed custom progen to a Pearlcatcher from a Guardian, it was her midlife crisis in lore and her second and permanent mate is a Pearl. And I like the Pearlies, they're like a horse dragon with a personal gemstone.
I find it interesting that the four starters are largely distributed evenly, give or take. Suggests that they're good mix of looks for the tastes of the whole player base, even considering half of them would have been random generated.
It would be interesting to see what the breed breakdown would be in just the custom progen's breed, but that would be impossible to tell in Dragon Search without going through every ID number and counting the lower one in a progen pair.
True on the Gaolers for the free scrolls sighs in 'wasn't here for the 6th anniversary', it's the distinct separation of ancient and modern that I think encourages people to make Gaolers out of Gen 1s, progen or not.
