I was looking through usermade skins and accents on the new database and it got me thinking about the comment feature. It's possible that users could comment on their own skins with how many they've printed and how much the accent costed to help resellers and people searching for skins!

I don't know exactly the comment policy yet so I could just be spitballing, but it sounds like an interesting premise.

Overall I'm really glad the database exists, and it's exciting to think about how it could impact so many areas of the site!

What are some interesting ways you see the database being used, especially the comments?

That seems like the best use of comments so far, definitely. I hope more uses come out of it! I love community contribution projects.

Maybe not so much the comments, but I could see the favourites part being used as a wishlist of some sort? Granted, if you need multiple, you probably can’t mark it down without using a comment (which I haven’t tested, and it would probably be frowned upon since it’s not really discussing the item itself), but otherwise? Just go ahead and favourite it and have a quick link whenever you’re ready to buy that flowerfall or gene scroll.

Actually, on the topic of gene scrolls, does it still search by name or does it select the specific item? Say, if you took the link to “Primary Gene: Jaguar”, does it still show Jaguar (Gaoler)? I’d check, but I’m a little busy right now.

I had no idea every user skin was there too! I was using it to warn users in the far future about Coli monsters that gave me grief(other sites showed that some things just last far longer than you'd expect), but that's a much better use.

I hadn't thought of that, but that would be useful for others to know if they could potentially get another copy of the accent! Or just a link to their shop so that if people like the accent, they might be able to find ones similar to it.

@Cantata Searching “Jaguar” pulls up both, though they have separate entries! But using the database as a personal wishlist with the favorites is definitely a good idea!

@MulberryScroll I think that’s a good idea! Forewarnings about what builds and elements handle venues best could be really helpful, as well as methods for defeating some trickier enemies!

Another thought I had is that the comments could be used to record “history” of items: like adding when the last time the night sky silks cycled in.

@Cantata I think the user above was trying to ping you, and to add on to what they're saying, if you click the link to the AH it works just as if you had searched it by name manually (so yes, it still shows the gaoler ones).

I could totally see the comments being used to keep track of the price various KS items sold for last (without UN information, of course).

Also, consider: the favorites option being used to make a personal reference guide for what items to save for Swipp, Baldwin, etc.

@Lunalatic Oh, that would be really helpful for people looking to save (or sell!).

Favorite items is such a great feature, adding swipp and baldwin items would really help reduce the time I spend looking at guides.
