TOPIC | Help me let go of my dragons
Guess who ran out of lair space? I've been wanting to rid my lair of all my non-g1s (save for a few) for quite a while now, but it's very hard for me to let go. There are a lot of dragons that I have fond memories of (Dellingr was the first dragon I bought, Bane has lore that I keep forgetting to write, etc.) that I don't want to get rid of, but I really want to clear my lair out. I'd be willing to sell most of my dergs for 15g each, but I might just exalt the others if nobody seems interested. Maybe I'll be willing to sell of the dragons I'm closer to with some negotiation. Others I'm not really attached to and just need a bit of motivation to let go of. I'm not parting with any of my g1s, I just want to be a g1 lair. I really want to clean my lair out but I'm too attached to let go, can yall help me with that?

Who can take tomorrow, dip it in a dream, separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream?

The candyman can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good.

Put all the dragons you're uncertain about together in the last tab of whichever space you don't use to store your permas (for me it'd be the Lair because all my permas go in the Den). Leave them there for at least two weeks while you go about your FR life. Do not look at them even once.

Did you miss any of them specifically by name? Do you remember what the ones you thought of specifically by name look like? If the answer to both is Yes, then you can think about keeping the ones that qualify.

The others? They have to go. You can save their pictures to your computer in a special folder, you can screenshot their bios, whatever like that you need to do. But they go. They already proved you're not so attached to them.

Edit: Struggling without any lair space those two weeks will help amplify your readiness to chuck some of them out. Trust me.

@Snek
Thank you for the advice, I've split up my lair accordingly.

You're welcome! Best of luck with the trim-down efforts.

Arcane does a dominance push about once a month, but we're taking December off this time. For me, I use dominance pushes as a time to slim down the lair and exalt away the ones that no longer fit.

If a dragon no longer fits with a lair's theme and cannot be made to fit in some way, then it really does need to go. You'll never achieve that dream later with those dragons there.

@SwankiestGarbage, might be worth trying a KonMari-lite? For each dragon, consider them individually. Touch them, and if they spark joy, keep them. If not, say, "Thank you," and let them go. If you're still having trouble, consider what they've taught you about yourself and your aesthetic.
"Thank you for giving me joy when I bought you," or "Thank you for teaching me what doesn't suit me," and let it go.

+1 for the quote formatting!! @SwankiestGarbage I pretty much do a KonMari lite. It's more like waves of filtering lol. Wave 1: 1. Separate dragons that I like at first (keeps) with ones that I can live without (exalts). 2. Of the keeps, separate into categories: permas, g1s, projects, gray area, etc 3. Repeat 1 on each of the categories of 2, shuffling off the ones I can live without into exalts. Wait a few days, review again. I also want a g1 lair, but I'm quite picky of what's in my lair now. If I'm not completely happy, I ask the question time and time again until I can come to a yes or no decision on if I should keep or exalt. This recent Nature push is helping though~

Just exalt them all!
Just exalt them all!
You can never have enough apparel. I will not stop until my hoard is dripping with it.
Thanks for the advice! I could definitely exalt Nuevo immediately as he doesn't fit well into my lore (he's been around forever, but he's really got no place here.) Time to hatch my banescale eggs! I'll leave the others up for 2 weeks to sell, and if they don't sell by then, I'll just exalt or give to my friend.
