I’ve never had an unhatched gen 1 egg before, and quite frankly, I’m super excited, and I reallywant to hatch it.
The urge is very strong, but at the same time, I kind of want to save them until my birthday, or my FR anniversary, or leap day. :’) I just can’t quite decide yet.
What are you guys going to do? Have you hatched your banescale eggs yet? Are you planning on waiting for some occasion?

I hatched both of mine and they're absolutely gorgeous. 10/10 babies.
That said, eggs are a huge gamble. Banescales seem to work with a lot of color combinations, but there's no guarantee you'll get something you like.
Also, right now is definitely the most profitable time to hatch them. People are buying even mediocre Bane's for ridiculous prices and these prices are not going to last for long.
So I guess it depends on whether you value profit or sentiment more.

Hmm... my suggestion would be to hatch one now and one later on a special event! That way you can ride the wave of excitement with everyone and still have one for whichever special day you choose. Very true, but since these eggs are clanbound, there really isn't the whole sell vs hatch conundrum - they have to be hatched by you or they will sit in the hoard - the gamble aspect isn't really there. The only question is when to hatch (which I quite like because it really takes the guilt off for when I know I [i]should[/i] sell an egg but can't stop myself from hatching lol)
But, like you said, prices will never be higher than now! So I suppose [i]that[/i] is the gamble, if you save them for the special date and don't like them, you can't sell them like the hotcakes they're selling like now [emoji=banescale winking size=1]

Especially since I need 3 more dragons for a subspecies and one more female Gaoler for a lair balance thing I have. That will leave me down to absolutely zero free spaces even before getting any Banescales. Which means I have to get TWO lair expansions so I can get Banescales and still have room for hatching eggs.
Plus, when Gaolers came out, I bought and gened a pair right away. And a week later they introduced Blossom. I hate regening a new dragon when the rest of my needs one as well and have been waiting longer. And some dragons don't even have their first genes, including one of my Gaolers. I'm willing to bet that they're going to add at least one more gene to the new guys sometime this month or the next. So I'm going to wait and see how that goes while I scrounge up the 2 and a half mil in treasure I need to expand my lair.
