Edit: This post isn't debating whether or not static poses are better. It's a question of why ALWAYS the males. If it was to better appeal to everyone, why not mix it up? Why not have 50% of female poses be static and 50% of male poses be static? Why is it 99% of the time the male? Just a realy weird trend overall.
So far, both ancients have had really boring male poses and female poses with lots of motion:

Looking to the side, no movement. Just kinda standing there.

Flying, tons of movement. Fits the aggressiveness of the breed.

Again, just standing there looking to the side.

Tail is curled up, interesting position.
The male poses aren't exactly bad, per sey, but like, why is it 99.9% of the time the males (including the modern breeds tbh) the ones who get the flat poses?
Idk what to do with this info tbh.

Yeah, I'm pretty sad about it too.
Especially the male bane. And you're right, even modern breed males have mostly static poses.... It's interesting. And disappointing. Like you said, it's not that the art is bad. But why does one pose just completely lack personality?

I think it looks really cool! But yeah, both of the gaoler poses are kinda...eh

so they can appeal to everyone
some like the static poses for better dressing(in this case skinning(?)) ,To show of genes better and features
some like the more dynamic poses
for an example most prefer the male imp pose because it's easy to dress and shows quite nicely but dont like the clunkiness of the female.
Others like the female because it has more emotion in it

it is just... ughh why
I preffer female poses, so it gets ehh when I want some gen1 males too
I get it it is so each can appeal differently, someone preffers more dynamic and some static, but it is so weird that mostly females are dynamic. I don't wanna fill up my lair just with females, they need some bois too
I actually prefer the males of many breeds, especially gaolers! Different things appeal to different people. I love both the banescale poses honestly.

TBH I prefer male gaolers, the female pose doesn't show enough hair/mane, which is the main charm of this breed.

And here I am thinking both Banescale positions are awesome, whereas I really dislike female Gaoler's pose!

I just like the "static" poses in general, really

I do like all four poses a lot but I also noticed that in both, the males are the calmer ones and the females more dynamic
It's probably coincicence, I hope for the next breed, the males will get the one more in action (or both get a dynamic one, since we also got breeds with both genders just 'standing around' (Wildclaws, Ridgebacks...))
