An arcane dragon suddenly flies over somewhere to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, and just shouts "HEY I SAW ONE OF YOUR CLAN MEMBERS TODAY" and another dragon pops up and yells "HI THANKS WANNA BE FRIENDS"

there's just a lil signpost near the front doors/gates/archway/whatever really of every clan and random dragons sometimes fly up, write some meaningless cryptic message like 'i love your avatar', on a piece of parchment and stick it to the post, and fly off again. the clan leader or whatever comes out, sees it, scribbles 'thanks he's my baby' on a piece of scrap parchment, and flies off to go pin it to their noticeboard.

(I tend to headcanon that there are tons more clans than what is represented here on the website: and generally speaking, our clans are considered the Super Weird and Unspeakable ones. No other way around trying to hold to site lore and accept other lores too.)
