I’m currently trying to get more active in the game and with the community, so what are all you guys doing to do this? Are there any breeding projects your working on? How about quests your working on? What do you guys do to keep having fun?
Go into Dragon Share and play some of the games there at least once a week. Getting eyes on your lair feels good, and you get to see a lot of other people's lairs too and look at things you never thought of before.
Try to get involved with the activities each flight does during their festival month. It doesn't have to be Coli if you're not into that or raffles! They (usually) hold other kinds of activities too. I usually find at least one a festival that intrigues me. Sometimes much more!
Look for other games and activities too--like the Trick or Treat that happens around Halloween, the Secret Santa that pops up in December, etc. Sometimes it's less involved than that, even, but still quite fun! You'll find a lot of them in FRD, but you'll also be able to spot some good times in Forum Games or Raffles & Giveaways depending on the kinds of things you enjoy doing. Mysteries, simulations, scavenger hunts, whatever--there's all kinds of stuff. Participating in things with people gives you shared experiences and a sense of community VERY fast.
Head into the Quests & Challenges forum and look for interesting things to change up how you're doing what you've been doing. If you don't habitually breed a lot, try a hatching challenge of some sort. If you get very bored with Coli, try a Long Drop, or something of that sort. If you're struggling with lore, there are some challenges that take cues from what you pick up in Coli that day based on a set of specific rules, and that might help you--or there might be people in the creative forums who have prompts and groups up.
Join different conversations here in FRD or GD. You will get to know people on sight and eventually be happy to see some of them around, like a good next door neighbor or something of the sort.
Also? Occasionally go poking around at wishlists and surprise people with little things. Once or twice a month I like to find someone and hand them a couple small items off their list. It just feels good to share a good time, and you never know who might've really needed the smile you put there.
