personally, i just sold 46 of them for 1012 gems so it's really profitable! do you guys open them and hope for eggs or sell them and if you sell them what price do you sell them for?

I haven't had much time to grind yet this year, but last year I sold half and kept half. I ended up with a hoard full of smirch and eggs and a nice amount of gems to top it off!
When I sell them I try to sell stacks of 10 with a unit price of slightly lower or equal to whatever the current lah is. Any extras I keep to open... I need to fuel my Gen 1 collection somehow lol.

Open because I can make dragon cash other ways, and I love FR loot boxes a bit too much to not open them. I already hold off on all the other chests, but notn chests are special and funner to open :)

I make a stack to open for Christmas (along with all the other openables I've been saving up), and maybe another half-stack to open on New Years, and then after I've opened all those I trade the contents and any remaining chests with people who have the things I definitely want. As long as I get at least one set of the new apparel, two of every new familiar and maybe an egg or two, NOTN is a success for me.
I'm also incapable of not opening at least one a day, so last year's rule was I could open the first three I found each day. This year's rule is that I can open one in every ten chests found. So a mix of a total gamble and getting everything I want.
