TOPIC | How does NotN fit into your lore?
I'm just curious about how people work NotN into their lore.

For example, with my lore, Night of the Nocturne is pretty much a two-week long Polar Night when all (or at least most if not all) of the Nocturnes come out and cause havoc and chaos, because they like trying to catch the mimics that also happen to come out this time of the year. What my dragons do is pretty much like a hurricane party, but mostly about Nocturnes. They hole up in their lairs and just party hard, trying to not worry about how the sun hasn't come back for quite some time and there's strange nocturnes and mimics everywhere, just leaving eggs all over the place.

I know geographically that seems kind of whack since it being a polar night implies that the known dragon lands are very very close to a magnetic pole and how that brings in it's own odd implications but like, Sornieth has magic so I figure a lot of Sornieth geography doesn't neatly follow trends seen in the Earth's geography.

This is, of course, what the civilian dragons do, while the more powerful and militant dragons go out to keep strangers out of the lair as well as rake in that sweet sweet NotN loot money.

Like all the other festivals, they don't really do anything about it
The clan lives more or less on their own, high up in the sky, so blocking access is fairly easy.

It’s just a two week period where the scavengers and warriors find these weird chests all the time so it’s like

Ary: Father....we’ve found another one!

Screechfang sobbing: please Shadowbinder.....we don’t have the lair space or the finances for this

My clan actively seeks out the chests during this time, and sells them to other clans. It's celebrated within the clan as a time of immense profit, but it means the clan is spread pretty thin trying to collect resources.

My clan's main lair is pretty secluded within the Snow Squall Tundra however smaller bands will form, such as mates or close friends within the lair, to migrate or roam to new locations and other settled lair spaces. This varies upon the seasons, events, and each dragons' wants or needs. However, there is always remaining dragons that stay in the main lair to watch over things.

So when NotN rolls around, the dragons that want to actively seek out and participate will split off and roam to find want they want. Whether it's profit, treasure hoarding, the experience, or just to party with other clans, etc.... Meanwhile, the other dragons remain where they are and just sigh in acceptance as they get yet another egg to add to the growing pile.

I like to imagine all the new nocturne hatchlings following exasperated elders around like ducklings
