I refer to everyone as he/him until specific pronouns are given (sig, etc.). It just sounds 'better', I guess? It's default for me.
I choose avatar dragons based on how much space they take in the square. This is why female faes, female skydancers and male wildclaws are good but female banescales, male skydancers, etc. are a big no no for me.

I'm usually picking female dragons, not because I am as well but because I prefer their poses. Most female dragon poses cover more of the white background than male poses. Male WCs have this awkward round white space, male SDs are literally just their small snoots...
I don't really associate the dragon avatars being male or female with the person being either.

Nah, not really. I just pick whichever dragon I like the most at the time regardless of gender. I don’t tend to associate dragon avatar genders with other users’ identities either.

I usually pick female dragons for my avatar. It's really just because I like the female poses better with most breeds. I am a female myself, but I never really thought of it that way.

That's pretty much what I do, except with female pronouns (she/her). I pick my avatar based off of dragons I just really like lol

I don't really? I chose mine since it was my favorite and assume others did too.
I usually default to She/her, since my days were spent rping, and boy howdy did I have to interact/play with female characters

I just do my favorite dragons. I've got two that are my Spoiled(tm) ones, so I just flip-flop back and forth between whether I feel more techno or more magical at the time. One's male, one's female, so there's not really a rhyme there. :P
(I have had people in the past address me based on what gender my current avatar was, though.)

I usually pick based on appearance with whatever outfit they have. Currently I'm using one based on the accent since it matches with the vista I'm using.
