So I know we get to choose the primary and secondary of our custom progen, and then get assigned a random mate for it.. But I was wondering if in any way the colors of the tert and other random dragon are somehow fit to match? Because I just bought the genes I wanted for my custom progen and she ended up looking like this:

Then my random, Snoot. His primary and secondary give exactly the same purple hue if I would give him the blend/fade genes:

You got lucky. My custom progen got Azure as a tert. Doesn't match at all. I wanted a red tert instead. I think it's kinda dumb that it's a CUSTOM progen but we don't get to pick the tert color.

My custom progen didn't end up with an ideal tert, but this feels a bit like looking a gift horse in the mouth. An ugly tert can be fine if left basic after all.

I believe FR mostly picks the furthest colour from the primary and secondary to ruin everything. It's so rare to get a good tert, you were very lucky!
(I'm still super mad that my random progen has a matching tertiary while my custom one is? Boring? Charcoal? Seriously?)

Yep all rng, the random is basically the same thing as hatching an egg.
Sometimes you're happy with the colors and sometimes...
I messed up my own custom by choosing a really bad secondary that no longer fit my taste, the system gave me a nice tert. Thankfully the genes these days are really versatile and I've been able to find a combo I like on her.

As for my random, did not like him. His colors are spring/ banana/ soil, I thought he looked like a rotten underipe banana. Again was able to find a combo I like on him. So in the long run, I'm pretty happy.
