why you don't assign stats + stones in the coli.

i'm currently training my avatar dragon to level 25 in my spare time, and today i just wondered, "hey, i should start assigning stats to him! he's got all these points and empty stones.. it'd be a waste. maybe he can help!"

turns out, this has completely messed up my pattern and rhythm. i use the keybinds so i don't have to manually click everything, and instead of my usual "a s q, a s w, a s e, etc" i now have to account for a weak dragon who can barely deal a dent of damage who has been equipped with ambush and qck points ;-;

tl;dr: don't assign coli stones or stats before the dragon is level 25

YUP. Or assign Str and Vit, that's fine, and once the dragon's halfway useful maybe even some Qck, but NO ambush stones - that way it'll only come up if the combat lasts longer than the usual all-Eliminate rounds.

that's a big oof from me, chief.

I've definitely done the same thing before. Those dragons are still not fully leveled :')

on the contrary, i half-statted a trainee with decent STR and QCK and he was able to move enough to get the damage needed to equal my trainer's scratch- so no need for time wasted on an extra scratch, just straight in with the elim. i got so used to it that when i changed to my next trainee i was completely outta rhythm for a while.

I put my fodder to QCK 18 if I get kicked out of coli while training, and the rest into VIT.

This allows me to take down Wartoads without worrying about my mireflier getting knocked out and costing me 5 food points (because the fodder dragon gets a turn (ie chance to restart))
When fighting regular packs it is slow enough that it doesn't get in the way when nothing goes wrong but if somebody dodges? - fodder also gets a turn, which means even when my health is low I can keep training and hope to sap my way back to comfort zone because if I'm unlucky and get knocked out my fodder stops the beastclans steamrolling everyone so I can hit restart.

If you don't want to tincture again and lose stones etc, you could put your avatar in its own team and go through the levels with two other dragons the same level as it, you get 1300-1500XP each round similar to the mire and its arguably more interesting than using your trainer to take it all the way to 25.
There is a forum guide explaining how to do this while training fodder along the way too, think outside your box :)

Also depending how QCK it is already can you use haste on your trainer to finish packs before your avatar gets a go? +5 breath at the start of each round plus a free shot just got even better if it gets your avatar out of the road too!

I just put all points into VIT, since I'm gonna tincture them anyway

To be honest it's so annoying to me that if I were you I'd tincture and destroy the ambushes

I've made that mistake before, rip.

If you plan on tincturing later, I suggest throwing all stat points into VIT, that way it can be a damage sponge, which can really help your trainer at times :)

Definitely no battlestones though, or at least, no ambushes.

I've leveled those kinds of dragons for others before and it's a pain.

This is such a mood. While I was working on leveling a dragon to 25 in the mire I gave them a couple ambush stones when the time came. Needless to say I never did that again. It threw off my entire battle order by having them interfere with my trainer's actions.
