Flight Rising Discussion

I can't be the only one who's super impatient for the world map update. I want to move my lair and I already know where I want it to go, but I don't know what my options will be on the world map. Like, I want to move to a spot along the northeast coast of the Shifting Expanse (kinda behind the Tempest Spire in the current art) but I don't know if there'll be a canon region out by the cliffs or if I'll be moving back to the Lightning Farm as a "close enough" location. I'm fine with whatever, but I want to knowwwww. I am basing my lore on the canon lair location right now, so we're currently in the Tempest Spire because that's what my clan profile page says. I want to be able to "officially" move back out to the outskirts so I feel better about rewriting that part of my lore. And who knows, one of the new locations might even be cool enough to change my mind about where to move!

Anyway. I'm clearly pretty excited about the update. Anyone else have Big Plans for their lore after the update finally arrives? And for the countless people who have no idea what I'm talking about....here.

(Artists and devs take your time, I'm just really into this sort of worldbuilding and have -100 patience)

We've had two ancient breeds release between the world map announcement and now, and who knows how many genes, eye types, items, etc. And I don't give a flying fig about ANY of the new stuff because I'm still waiting on the world map update for lore reasons.

Honestly at this point I wish they'd never announced it, if it was going to take so long to come out. I lost all desire to work on my lore or breeding projects or anything, because I don't want all my hard work to get retconned when the new map comes out. They said in the post that it was a "high priority project" and that was a year and a half ago.... And we've had all this new stuff come out since then.

It's really discouraging.

I know exactly where I'm moving my clan to! :D A little bit southwest of the Hewn City is where my main clan's territory is located.

I'm so excited for it! I know it's going to affect my lore, but I cant do anything yet [i]cuz it's not out[/i] [emoji=spiral sad size=1] I can't wait to see what we get with it! I wonder if they'll post about any progress, like if they have any idea currently when it may be ready. It's the not-knowing that's tearing me to pieces.

Unless there comes an area that is even more cursed than the Hewn City in Light(and given the Emperor issue, I wouldn't be surprised), I'm not really seeing much in the way of changes. It will be nice to officially change my lair location back over though.

If there is an even worse area, Good Life Decisions™ are sure to happen.

I've been away for a while. What was actually promised in the World Map update? Will it actually be interactable, or is it just more lore stuff? I'd like to see actual zone layouts with shops and stuff. I'm not much of a lore person.

My clan lives underground so doesn't matter where I live, you won't see it XD

@Division According to staff, the features track of work is separate from the breed art track of work so theoretically it shouldn't be affected by the ancients. The bestiary revamp was mentioned in the 6th anniversary post for this year, and we did get that. PvP and the map were the other two things mentioned. So hopefully we'll get them before the next anniversary! Now that NotN is over, maybe we can get one of them soon and then another in like April? Fingers crossed.

[/quote] I feel that too, tho I rather feel happily Hyped about the fact we will get more lore to worldbuild with. It stills thrill me the possibility that they could decide to add massive changes to the places my lore is tied up to, but I'm more interested in the new lore additions that will come with them. All I want is my clan to thrive thorough that, doesn't matter if I have to rewrite a ton of lore, as long as my clan's current headcannon territory doesn't turn into a giant jungle of sorts (*shakes fist at Nature's ambassador*) I'll feel happy about anything that comes with the future worldmap.
