I'm hype about the underbelly and I posted as such in the announcement thread.
What I saw in the forums were
1. People SUPER salty that the broken genes got fixed without warning
2. People making 500 threads about the gaoler drama. Most of it wasn't threads about the fins, it was threads about the threads about the fins. The meta drama was about three times as thick as the actual drama.
I'm hype about the underbelly and I posted as such in the announcement thread.

Help I'm trapped in a signature!
I think it's because Underbelly has been used on both Modern breeds and Gaolers. Underbelly is just that good versatile tert when the other tert options do not appeal I find.
It might also be because it is a treasure gene and I don't even remember there being this much hype either when fade/blend were added. Just for a few days and moving on.

Underbelly isn’t like a super hype gene in general. Like it’s insanely useful for banescales since they don’t have many terts that aren’t super busy/line breaking, but it’s not anything new really.
That being said, I am SUPER happy that they added a chill tert for banes. Pretty much my biggest issue with them was that I had a hard time getting tert colors to look good.
That and yeah, people getting upset over the art changes (rip my white metallic/alloy plans), and weirdly upset about fans??? Like if you don’t like it that’s fine but it’s always nice to have more options than less options ya know

i was too busy crying over the "fixes" to care
i actually had good plans that made use of squiggle to look even better than underbelly could've... but it was on a male bane, so he's scrapped now.

people are always more vocal about things that they hate, rather than the ones they like. i'm very happy they added underbelly to banes!

I'd be more hyped for Stained than Underbelly.
I'm not too hyped though because Gaolers and Banescales have some natural underbellies on their genes anyway.
