If you have a lot of cheap apparel, just sell those for the lowest Auction House price. I seem to always have a lot of it myself from random Coliseum drops. If you sell a few hundred of those, that can quickly add up.

i tend to coli a bit and sell any rare loot i get in gems only. stacks of food, familiars, and apparel for many small profits, and eggs, genes and boss fams for bigger profits. keep a tight hold on the gems you get and it all starts to add up. fodder breeding or holding work nice too

If you have the treasure for it, you can directly convert it to gems in items for sale. Another option for direct conversions is buying stuff for treasure (banescale scrolls, fodder hatchlings, tea sets...) and selling it for gems. Just note that if you do that to be aware of the conversion ratio, because sometimes the common stuff is underpriced

I used to buy cheap familiars off the AH, and melt 'em down for baldwin mats. The rarer mats can sell for a decent amount, and you at least make your money back (in gems) with the common ones.
Not the fastest, but also the least intensive-- no coli or anything :)

Familiar bond and sell the chests? They sell well, and a lot are easy to acquire? It's not quick but at least it's predictable.

In my experience, the best ways to make gems directly are all slow (selling accents, flipping items for small profits). Treasure, however, can be made fast, and then you can go to the item sales forum and trade for gems.

Each familiar gives you a minimum of 12 gems and 11500 treasure, and a max of 30 gems and a max of 27494 treasure. (
Payout tracking I did for a few months)

or, I would if my lair wasn’t full again. Mahjong is quick and has good payouts for the time spent.
