TOPIC | Why is white a popular color?

I'm curious about this. I know that Gen 1s that range in either Black/White can tell for a lot. I can see the appeal for black when scrying but white? I don't understand it.

One reason is it's just as much of a blank slate for accents as black ones are.

Also fitting of all those divine pure types.

It can match with more apparel and accents and such. That’s my guess.

It’s because of the aesthetic and how cool it looks to have a white xxx dragon. I have like 3 xxx white gaolers

Depending on the other colors, white can be appealing (to me, a person who many different color schemes and combinations are appealing to) because:

If blacks, then high contrast! High contrast is why I love Orca, so it makes sense that I'd love it in other contexts as well. The price of a monochrome G1 is way out of the price I'd be willing to pay for it, I don't love it that much, but G2+ or (in theory) self-hatched? Yes, definitely.

If whites, then… less appealing, I guess? But I do have a triple white (g2+, not g1) who is a floofy Gaoler baby and the appeal is just that she looks very soft and cute and like she'd blend into the snow. Pure white also makes it possible for the smaller details of the linework to stand out, I suppose?

If colors, then contrast and making the other color pop! Blacks and whites with colors to make those colors stand out more is one of my favorite things, and this is actually where I've picked up my few white or obsidian G1s: super cheap because their other colors were unappealing, I guess. I also have a number of G2+ dragons with this sort of look.

But most importantly: since white is a color I tend to prefer in Basic— since I don't usually like the shade of gray that the genes drag in— it means that geneing is going to be way more cheap. :D Bonus!

I'd only ever have white as a tert, I'd never have a triple white anything because for me that's the textbook definition of a boring dragon.

The whole white range aside from Ice and Orca are only acceptable as terts.
