I've just come back from a reallyyyy long hiatus (almost a year now) and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to try to catch me up on any new genes or dragon types and what festival apparels and familiars I've missed. I've been gone since last May if that helps haha I know this a lot to ask sorry!

I can catch you up on new dragons, but otherwise I haven't really gotten into festival apparel and new familiars.

There are new dragon breeds, Ancients, which can't use apparel and can't breed with most other dragon breeds. These dragons are:
