Flight Rising Discussion

FR is an amazing place with countless amazing people, but the memory I look back on the fondest is the story of how I met my best friend.

I was browsing the AH for familiars, and decided to check the Wind Only AH, and was curious as to what the most expensive familiar there was. And I find this ridiculously overpriced Tradewinds Gull. So I check who's selling it, because whomst the hecketh is selling this random bird as a joke.

The user, at the time named CraZDragon, had an interesting profile, and I saw something in there saying she was up for RP inquiries. At the time, I was a very shy person (still get anxious with reaching out and/or talking to people, but I'm doing a lot better now), but I had also been trying to get out of my comfort zone when it came to interacting with people, and was interested in starting an RP.

So I sent a PM (after a good 20 or so minutes of panicking because "oh no what if I'm bothering them, what if I say something wrong, what if--"), and she replied that yeah, she was up for starting an RP with me. So, I was really happy about that, and we start talking a bunch about what we're going to do, how many characters we have, the world it's going to take place in.... And we started talking about other things as well. We shared art, and got to know each other better. Eventually, we weren't even talking about the RP anymore, and over a year and a half later, we still haven't started that RP XD

And now, she is my best friend and my absolute favourite person in the entire universe, and every time we talk, my face usually ends up hurting from grinning so much, and I'd spend every moment of my life talking to her if I could. She's helped me through so much, and has made me such a better person, and inspired me more than anyone or anything else ever has.

And as a side note, we both hoard Tradewinds Gulls now because of how we met XD she has more than I do though

I got it in my head to find the dragon whose ID matched my birthday, and was lucky enough to find her as a hatchling in someone's lair. They were very kind to give her to me when I messaged them! (to be fair, I think she was supposed to be fodder, but I think she's a cute, if unusual-looking girl)

I've done drive-by gift-bombing once or twice to repay the favor.

I'm always.... very self conscious.
I believe the term is "house poor" XD I try to give all my dragons a skin or accent and some apparel.

Because of this, I struggle with food often because I don't have the time to coli. So I'll go through periods of famine so I can breed or coli during a festival. I'm always grateful whenever I get gifts of food because it appears I "don't need it" but I really do...

One time I mentioned that a Glitter Vomit was a dream skin of mine on a thread once and a user just sent me theirs! I love it dearly and I'm incredibly appreciative for such a grand gesture.

Overall I've met some really kind people through the years but I can't really ping everybody :')

I'm incredibly grateful to my eonni @girlofSornieth for bestowing upon my life her words of wisdom, friendship and creativity. And for bestowing upon my ears the music of the gods. And various other things from and about the gods. Like fanfiction and endlessly gorgeous [s]eye candy[/s]visuals. [size=2](You're the best eonni ever--I'M NOT CRYING)[/size] And obligatory gratefulness to Flight Rising for allowing us to meet. (^v^) But also for the wonderful community at large, which is often full of kind and generous and mindbogglingly creative people everywhere you turn. Finally, I share my gratefulness to the Flight Rising cast and crew, who work hard to give us this glorious website and all the shiny wonders that are made available here in many forms, including the constant flow of new content, and the updates and re-crafting of the older content. We literally would not be here without you and you all make this place irresistible and exciting. [emoji=heart size=1]
