I would love to breed some dragons and fill FR with the Plague aesthetic it desperately needs, but... Well, my lair is just about always one below its cap, and I only really expand it when there's a dragon I really want, usually for lore reasons. And the cost of expanding my lair to its full size... I like having money to, you know, buy things, so that's hard. Plus, eventually I'm gonna breed dragons for lore purposes, so I'm gonna need space reserved for them...
Eh, oh well. I love the dragons I have now, and if there's no quick fix I'm alright with that (lair purges aren't an option, and my hibden is in constant use). Maybe I could try to rack up a ton of treasure somehow, but what about all the apparel I need-
Anyways, are there any game features you'd like to explore, but that don't mesh with your play style? Are you working towards adjusting your style? Considering an entire lair revamp? Share it!!

Hm... about the only arbitrary rules that negatively affect me is the way I've decided to organize my lair. Splitting fandragons into g1s and g2s really borks my fandoms, because dragons from the same property end up nowhere near each other... but I can either flex my g1 cred or flex my fandom cred, not both, and I was getting tired of half my fandragons never being seen for IKTR, much less picked.

On a more serious note, not really a rule, but more of a mindset: I constantly tell myself I'm broke because I need to stop impulse buying dragons and work on my current projects lol.
And also I usually have this rule where I only gene gen1s, however I've broken that rule and become more open to gen2+ dragons lol. Also, I refuse to have a basic gene on any of my dragons; if anyone has basic, I have plans to gene them up.
Edit: another "rule" I have, although it's not quite the kind of rule you're talking about that stops you from using a mechanic, is maxing the fairgrounds every day. G&G for life, baby

Coli and breeding! I never have the patience to level any of my dergs up to 25.. And as far as breeding goes, I don't like breeding fandragons. Which makes up like, 70% of my lair.
Edit: OH and lore! I've given up on that for the same reason as breeding.

I cannot, will not, and will never, lore. It is impossible. I've tried, but the only place my lore sounds cool and not cliche is my brain. Also it's hard to incorporate all my dragons into my lore because its very specific and would require lots of Creative Thinking which I don't have

I've never been able to max the fairgrounds, and I can barely ever expand my lair (need to)

I don't really buy or hatch G1s (with an exception or two of course), simply because I really prefer to get my dream dragons through breeding projects.
Making custom accents sounds like it'd be really cool, as I'm floundering to find more non-dessert food accents for my dragons, but I just don't have the skill.
Aside from a few select dragons, most of my lore permas don't have children and as much as I'd love to see some of my pairs having a nest, a blank offspring list always wins out. I could run a hatchery, but exalting is just more worth it when it comes to immediate profit.
