so since im planning a vacation to earth in 3-4 days to mix up lore and check out something new, and im aiming towards becoming more g1 involved for stuff (i really dont like how messy my current lair is, ouch)
for people who have lairs similar to what i want mine to be, was the change sudden or did you just start slowly and how is it now?
(course, im not fully ready to have them all fully gened with umas and heaps of expensive apparel, but im gonna start saving up now [s]though the rare items just cycled in[/s] [emoji=coatl happy size=1])

Started slowly for me. I kept getting G1s with good colors while I was buying bulk fodder, and I started keeping a few to gene them up - I think the first two were a blue/cobalt/indigo ice dragon and a tomato/cherry/berry nature. Not long after that, I started checking out auctions for more G1s, and before you know it you're slapping down 6.5 for a double radioactive and tossing 600g at random, not-that-great XYZs because they work for a fandragon you kind of want and you don't feel like haggling when you could have the dragon now.
It could be a good way to start, the fodder - get a few cheap xyzs you like the look of and work them up. The biggest advice I can give is to not buy too many projects at once, or pick up more dragons when you have too many projects. You will lose interest in some. Don't bite off more than you can chew; find out where your equilibrium is with earning money relative to your gene plans and don't take on more than you can handle.
But G1s are very rewarding, and I find they're way easier to get attached to than G2s. The more you put in, the more you get out.

My lair switched on a dime. It's becoming messy again, so I'm thinking it's time to clean things up, refresh my lore and whatnot.
If you're gonna go full G1, just know you're going to need lots of dragon money to afford everything, so I hope you have a pretty solid income in place. ;D

I started accumulating G1s through buying fodder to level/exalt. I scry every single G1 that finds its way in my lair, and wind up keeping many of them. I’m super picky though (they have to have matching eyes, no exceptions), so thankfully I don’t keep EVERY G1 I come across
I have also accidentally hatched a few while opening notn chests by misclicking. I got lucky and they were pretty tho
I’ve only outright bought a G1 once, and it was a week ago. I paid way too much (auction), but it was so worth it bc she’s probably my prettiest G1
I don’t plan to gene them for a looong while because I have familiar goals that are more pressing, but their time will come!
