Learn how to play Glimmer and Gloom and max the fairgrounds daily, which is 75,000 treasure a day.
Bond with familiars daily.
Stop going to adoption threads/the auction house because pretty dragons exist and they are hard to resist.
I've never spent real money on FR, and although currently I don't plan to, someday in the future I might, not because I need the currency, but to support this site of which I adore <3 But my point is, I can make quite a bit of money and sustain all my dragons without spending any irl cash.
My biggest money-makers are the aforementioned maxing fairgrounds daily, and leveling/exalting fodder. I definitely recommend investing in getting a 2-fodder trainer (Mire Flyer is great, and what I use most of the time).
Lair purge. I know how hard it can be, but try going through your dragons and asking "Does this dragon bring me joy?" and if the answer is no, then yeet it to the gods (after leveling it, for some sweet cash). Or sell them, idk.
