I have been thinking, and have noticed some really weird things to do with Scribbles.
- Their tail is nothing like a fae’s
- They somehow know about this long gone dragon Tomo knew
- They can never do their job right, as if perhaps they can’t understand Tomo
- They know about avocados
I might add to this list later, but for now, I have come to the conclusion that:
Scribbles is
a deity in disguise. Maybe the Tidelord.
Or, Scribbles is another deity we don’t yet know about... the Butterflyseeker? The Inkscratcher?

It's not that they don't understand Tomo...
'
They follow Tomo around and only ever *loosely* listen to her - other dragons get absolutely no reaction from them, including other fae. Scribbles will however engage in lengthy discourse with a variety of types of stone, though they won't give quartz or rocks that contain quartz the time of day; quartz are really the worst sorts of stones.'
Scribbles is only really interested in talking to rocks, not dragons.

maybe demigod? or what about a shapeshifting dragon who has to rely on memory for maintaining form? also this sounds like a proto-fae situation now that I think on it, perhaps Arcanist had his first kids as shapeshifters who later would disguise as faes, only to get some aspects wrong

Maybe. Still, how do you explain the avocados?

Notice how Scribbles has a forked tail, partly white eyes, is much larger than Fae naturally are, and can't talk?
Scribbles is Tomo's familiar, a mimic currently taking the form of a dragon. Tomo found him in a ruin she was exploring, and enlisted his help in her research and travels.
Now that Tomo's memory isn't what it used to be, she doesn't quite recall how she met this nice young dragon who's so helpful and faithful.

? I have no reason to think it doesn't exist in Sornieth.
Avocado is also a color a dragon can be.
