So, I've got this breeding project to make a 'me' dragon with my irl colours. After a few rounds of eggs I still hadn't gotten the colour combo I wanted. Creme, orange, orange, with unusual eyes. I bought a boon of fertility (350 gems) so I could hatch a nest on my actual birthday and almost jumped out of my chair when I saw a baby with unusual eyes and the right colour combo. I raced over to the marketplace and bought alloy (1200 gems) and started applying genes to this dragon..... only to find out afterward it is MALE. There goes all the gems I've been struggling to save up. Not necessarily an expensive mistake, but [i]could[/i] have been an expensive mistake if I hadn't caught myself sooner. I bred him myself (with the help of nest rentals) and was almost finished geneing him (since his parents had the right range but the wrong genes) and I just needed Underbelly and a scroll of eternal youth. I was about to buy underbelly but stopped and thought about it for a moment and realized that the crossroads dragon [i]doesn't have underbelly[/i]. I was lucky to stop myself and not spend more than I already need to on him. [rule] I also don't remember exactly what stones I lost, but I used to not know you could rearrange the battle stones so I bought new ones to reorganize them... multiple times. I was lucky an Eliminate was never included in that.

I sold my Light Sprite back in 2013 for 50,000t. Had to buy it back in 2015 for 38,000g.

[/quote] Mine is not that extreme but I sold my copy of freckled dawn for 3kg in 2014 and bought one back this year for 9kg I also hoard sold my Twice-Dyed Cowl

@MonoRM - Oh, I never realized that speckle has no belly pattern!
@Falinks - I never realized Coatl scrolls cost as much as Wildclaw until one project back. Gem genes to boot eh? goodbye anything that ever intended to be vaulted.

@Cakeless - Oh my word, a light sprite selling for 50,000t? I wish I was around during that era. Saving all those gems to buy it back must have taken ages. I finally managed to buy one for 79kg last year.

@Coral - Massive ouch at the hoard selling of the Twice-dyed Cowl.

@Aerazura 79,000g?! Holy heck, the prices have shot up! I'm glad I bought mine when I did then. Surprisingly, it took me just over a month to get the gems and all I did was live in coli at the time.

@Aerazura yeah in the first year I wasn't very active but I would login sometimes and one time I saw this random item in my hoard and I was like "eew what is this, off you go" and sold it. I only learned about the downtime gifts after that lol

I bought an XXY Antique/Antique/Red triple basic Banescale off the AH for I think around 300g because I thought it was a G1........... it wasn't a G1...................

looking back, a XXY G1 like that would have been in the thousands of gems but I got excited and clicked buy without thinking. Luckily I managed to rehome her with a friend who really likes her but it was such an ouch moment when I saw the lineage.
